My apologies confusion... I had little intention of being direct.

about this almost cliché brainchild of an idea.

In my mind, this is more a question of time in order to define what a "stone" is within this context. So old school MMORPGs are considered a bit of a grindy undertaking. I do play a Gladiator rather than a Paladin, I have no soul stone for this job. However once you reach level 50, there are no further abilities to learn. I have been thinking about what that means for the journey to a Lv. 80. Overall I would say I have a more dissonant character composition, which I attempt to balance with real life in a sense of a healthy habit yet I am constantly in wonder and racking my brain with what it would be like to play the other jobs how choosing another one would affect my character and real life, and I seem to find myself always at a crossroad of thinking, "Well if I do anything it should be the Paladin Quests because that is a class I have progress in rather than choose another which would upset the overall dissonant balance of play...I then flush that thought out with a 'No, it is a different path to be a Gladiator and I must see it through to the end.' " So I began to question what I means to have a soul stone and what a stone actual is, and for a while I had did not use any of them, before I said what the hell i'll check it out on my other classes(of course the ones that did not correspond to the original sub class restrictions after they had removed the requirements, otherwise it would be the opposite situation in which I would have only the PLD soulstone if I had not selected new classes.)

As I played my merry way then come to find that they introduced the purchase of completed jobs, which in my opinion have their place of purpose if perspective of organizing groups and such if one has already competed the content type deal or whatever, which i'm not entirely against I just don't think I will do that often or to try the jobs out. I'm more interested in the classes because the represent the origins of the game. Although newer jobs since the heavensward expansion have required soul stones and are turning up at various levels of equipment and i'm not sure what it means to use them or even to have them... So I though some third party voices might be able to shed some light on the predicament.

Although if you think about it a "stone" is a common symbol in lore, fiction, wives-tales and I know the tomestones were brought up as well; and in the defense of argumentation this topic does branch into contemporary philosophical debates.

If you refuse to equip your soulstone past level 30 you're neither a gladitor nor a paladin but only a liability to your fellow party members. I urge you NOT to be one of "those people" who refuse to use their soulstone for some convulted personal reasons - at least when it comes to any content you play with strangers through the duty finder. You lack key ablities to perform your role properly.

What it "means" is that the classes are a relic from 1.0 and that since 2.0 you're actually supposed to play as your job, with your soulstone equipped. I still wish they'd make that a mandatory requirement for queueing for anything past Brayflox NM. You wont be able to fullfill your role as a tank in higher level content as gladiator and should expect to be rightfully removed from dungeons in the future if you show up as a class rather than the job.

If you are honestly worried about how something like picking up your soulstone/job crystal in a video game might effect your real life, I would advice you to stop playing alltogether, since that doesnt sound healthy. I mean it. No matter how immersed you are in a game - any game - it shouldnt have (lasting) effects on your real life and if it does, you should reconsider playing the game in the first place.

In a lore-sense you can think of equipping or getting your soulstone as some sort of "promotion": You proved worthy enough at swordplay to leave the gladtiators guild behind and join the Sultansworn (at least in a sense). Your class is an entry level, you're just in training but after you completed the level 30 quest someone more skillfull than your guildmaster notices you and offers you a new and better job.
When you finish the level 30 quest you've reached everything you can reach as gladiator - its time to move on from the colosseum and the Sultansworn offer you a way - in the form of a soulstone. At level 30 your path as gladitor is over because they decided to focus on jobs instead. There is NO path left to walk for you.
I think someone already gave a lore-explantion in regards to what a soulstone is, but in short: Its the collected memories of everyone who possesed that stone in the past and through carrying it around with you, you unlock their past knowledge. (Funny enough: the level 60 paladin-quest actually makes some soulstone-mechanics their topic)

While I can understand being worried about any disturbans to your overall gameflow, specially when still going through the mainquest, I can assure you that picking up your soulstone and following the paladin-questline wont do that - or at least not more than following the gld-questline did. Honestly, its just quests to unlock new abilities, at least as far as the gameplay-aspect is concerned. Maybe I am to practical here, but specially as a tank this gameplay-aspect (aka: being able to perform well within your role) takes priority over any headcannon you may have (unless you decide to avoid playing with randoms alltogether).

In regards to jump potions: No one has to use or buy them, personally I would advice everyone to actually level the job to learn how to play it, but eh... cant make them.

    Yes, this.

Between Vidu's response and this image, I reckon the OP got the perfect reaction from people.

What is *posting? do you mean that to say the posts are ****quality? like a as in 4/5 stars outstanding!? of do you mean something more along the line of that they are vulgar and without reason or rhyme.... and what is XIV subreddit, is this something i should be aware of? yeah sure I make some grammatical errors and spelling type-o's that are mildly concerning.
Feedback is usually variable, however, I do play this game and this was an honest attempt to make a connection with the community; fickle though it may see...

Also, what about it is "****" in your opinion, i am accepting and open to criticism at your most harsh attempt.

I think you might be right. The comments after this are even more bizarre and inconsequential than the original.

If you were somehow serious, OP, my guy, I gave my response for you to chew on, but it doesn't look to me like you read it.

There are some points in my back pocked I am not going to share. In a roundabout statement I'm suggesting that there ought to be some thoughts about how an MMO molds a player, (by the players) and how it relates to them in terms of personal growth and development.
