What even is this thread.

"Stoned philosophy" is what I think the OP meant. It's really deep, maaaaann.

I would suggest you stop with the unnecessary, over-the-top flourishes in your responses before you start questioning another poster’s intelligence and logical analysis skills. I consider myself a fairly learned individual, but your thread has me completely lost with all the unnecessary attempts to sound philosophical. Lose the fluff. Clarify what it is you would like to discuss. Try again.Dear Vidu,
While as much as I would simple love to go tit for tat with you in an argument here, I simply cannot. Your charitable principles are skew and your logical analysis is still in development. I would recommend cultivating your intellect rather than pursue you enfeebling habits. Furthermore, I have already stated what I would like to discuss. You are welcome to share more thoughts if you like although I suspect it will be some time before you find your answers.
Most sincerely,
RCD

Hey guys, thanks again for the support on the thread. So rather that bane you folks with more sarcasm and slapstick I may as well try again as suggested.
The reason I post this in the lore section was that, in regards to the soul-stones in relation to the created character or otherwise "Warrior of Light". Now it used to be that we were required to pick up a support class to actually acquire the soul-stone and I think many people went on to collect the all, many characters that I see are BiS; and I think that has a lot to do with that original push on acquiring the soul-stone for each class and mixing the abilities with the affinity to make the playstyle more custom. However, if we are not riding a wave of experience and duty-pro its a little bit of a different game.
I called this "Stone Philosophy" because there are an increasing number of playable jobs, and that in relation to the player means a few things, the first being new character ark and abilities, the next being more time spent playing, and of course more maps to explore and all manner of foe. When we combine this as if it were a mixture what do we have, a cool-aid colored soul stone. In some situations, there is a background to the quest or idea related to the story of the guilds and the warrior of light. One example of this is the lore behind Odin, which has to do with E-Sumi-Yan, O-App-Pesi, the sword Zantetsuken and I'm told Eureka as well. As far as I am concerned it is a similar situation for most if not all of the Classes/Jobs.
"TinyRedLeaf" was on the right track in interpreting my original idea, in how the story has analogies and metaphors of universal issues that are meant to connect with it's audience.
It was my hope that collectively, we make an attempt to loosely conceptualize ideas and questions about specific jobs or classes based on in game experience in order to provide support for people on the fence about selecting which job or class they might like to play.
What do you folks think?

Man of fancy and high and might words, questioning the deeper meaning of our actions.
Also lv56 GLA with INT accessories/melds. If that's not literally intelligent, I don't know what is.

While I'm still not 100% sure I get what you're asking, I do know that Soulstones represent the collected experiences of the bearer while performing as a given job. In theory, you can then pass this soulstone onto another individual, allowing them to instantly grasp a lot of the fundamentals of the job. Soulstones are, basically, a kind of bio-compatible thumb drive.
Machinists provide an interesting case, in that we are the FIRST bearer of a Machinist soulstone. The thumb drive is empty, and it's up to us to fill it with experiences to pass on to future users. In theory, then, we could be as effective a Machinist with or without the Soulstone, but keep it equipped at all times as a courtesy.
I don't think that there's any real relationship between the fact that we are the Warrior of Light and that we use Soulstones. It seems to be implied that others use Soulstones, as well. Fray, for example, had a Soulstone (the one passed on to us), and Fray was no Warrior of Light. I would, however, guess that once we hang up our armor and retire, the Soulstones that we pass on to others might be particularly valuable and useful, since the Warrior of Light was, effectively, a peerless combatant and hero.
As for Soulstones as a metaphor for universal issues... I doubt they were intended that way, so we're veering into "Death of the author" territory here. I could see Soulstones as being a kind of shorthand for passing a torch onto the future, a desire for a kind of immortality in passing one's experiences and knowledge on to a future generation. Certainly an object like a Soulstone would make passing on that kind of legacy a lot more convenient and easy!
I'd say it's less likely that a job's storyline has much impact in swaying folks in choosing what job they'd like to play, for one big reason: The players need to choose to play the job BEFORE they're able to see the story (at least, unless they spoil themselves on it via Youtube or whatever). There might be a few cases where a player plays several or all jobs, and then picks the one with the story that resonates with them the most, but I doubt that's the norm. More likely, a player gets attached to a job and then either nods appreciatively if the story happens to gel for them, or gripes if the story sucks.
For example, I play Paladin, and love it, but the story is really kind of terrible. Now, admittedly, one of the reasons I originally chose PLD was due to the way it's portrayed in MOST games, as a gallant protector of the weak, wielding sword, shield, and holy magic - so, in a way, it DOES gel with your theory, in that I play it because I like Paladin's narrative. It just doesn't happen to match Paladin's narrative in THIS game, in which Paladins are semi-corrupt protectors of the Sultanate (and maybe the weak, if there's some free time), holy magic is an afterthought, and the job derives from a class that finds its footing in a bloodsport.
Short explain of philosify stones that its comes from the crystal and chosen Eorzeans is soulbinded to use these stones on different kind of purpose, ( what we switch classes and roles example ) Soulstones.

I'm. Confused.
If you're asking what Soulstones mean on a meta- level (somewhere between or transcendent of the player/character boundary), I'm gonna go with 'nothing'. As far as the game's ever shown, Soulstones are record-keepers for the knowledge and deeds of their previous owners. Sort of like a Pensieve from Harry Potter. I can't think of a way they would be commentary at the scale of the player.
If that's not what you were asking, though, I'm sorry to say I'm totally bewildered by your posts in this thread, OP. Was the first one meant to be in-character...?
