I guess i was just hoping for females to have the trait that they can get hyper aggressive very quickly(basically like male Viera but not as Xenophobic) and that is why they are seldom seen due to not wanting to rip apart anyone and cause undue discomfort to their clanIm sure women are more than capable of handling themselves clearly cant be a queen of a 80% male population and be a dainty push over
does seem like Males are just meats shields they can just toss aside while females need to be safe just to keep the race going males might even fear them.
Male viera seem more protective of the woods than the females themselves.
also Helions as a clan name HE LIONS just some pun the lost is way cooler.

There is an interesting difference in EN and JP description on promotional site.
English says:
Japanese says:Their society is purely matriarchal, and males of age are seldom, if ever, found within the bounds of any village. They instead serve as protectors of the wood from the shadows, that no evil may ever encroach on their sacred lands
In rough translation, they live with nomadic style of life. EN and JP versions do not exclude each other, but I find it interesting. Japanese version sounds pretty same as Keepers of the Moon lore.特に成人男性は単独での放浪生活を送るしきたりのため、目撃例すら稀である。
So much for lore supporting genderlocks. Hopefully this implies a possibility of us getting them.
I think it gives us more chances to have them, than not. Having somebody in lore as "rarity" is better, than not have them in lore at all (for example like Ananta, who are ooooonly females). SE were able to write that Hrotghars do not have females at all and reincarnacte as Galkas from ff11 which would just close the topic but they didn't do this.

Just because theyre from the same reigon doesn't mean they're from the same Area. Places can be as big or as small as the map dictates.
Because if any of their females ventures out and either decides to never return or is killed that is one less very very very rare queen to help the race stay alive.so why does it feel like big burly man must protect women and force them to stay near home as i'm sure female Hrothgar could easily rip apart most other races if she wanted to (I'm not calling the devs anything this is just how their lore + decision to only have playable males comes across to me)
So... you are basically asking them to do exactly what they;re frantically trying to do with the Hrothgar and Veira right now, RIGHT NOW.Just popping in because I just thought of a compromise I'd be fine with.
What if, for male Viera bodies, they simply reused the male Au Ra model, albeit without the scales and scaled to an appropriate height, but no other alterations; and then plopped unique heads on top?
This would do multiple things:
a) It would provide a slim yet strong build that the majority seems to be okay with, while keeping it somewhat unique
b) Gives us access to the truly unique feature of the Viera, the (most likely customizable) ears
c) Doesn't increase SE's workload by much, since any unique alterations would already be made for the Au Ra; they'd just have to scale it accordingly (which might even be automatable?)
They could do something similar for female Hroths, simply reuse the female Roegadyn model scaled to height and adding a fur texture, then put the unique heads on top.
Now, while this wouldn't be ideal, if ressources and workflow are truly the issue, I'd still be fine with this over getting no mViera/fHrothgar.
Of course they'd still have to put in the initial work for modeling the heads and making the animations, but adjusting existing and future gearsets would be far less grueling and ressource intensive.
Just something to think about.
Are you seriously asking them to do what they've already spent the better part of a year and a half trying to figure out in three months AGAIN?

Yeah this is ridiculous, unless women are just baby factories, which is somehow even worse than just being rare. Plus the fact that there will be lots of inbreeding unless the females mate with a different male every time. Just ew. And they were weirded out by bunny bois??A race where females are 'staggeringly rare' is even more ridiculous than the reverse. How exactly are they keeping their population stable? Assuming that 'rare' in this case is the same as for male Viera (meaning 1 in 10) wouldn't they either have to produce large litters of children, or have every woman spend most of her adult life pregnant just to maintain population numbers without any growth?
Are they? They didn’t say they were. How do you know what they’re trying to do with the hroth and viera right now?Just because theyre from the same reigon doesn't mean they're from the same Area. Places can be as big or as small as the map dictates.

Uhh.... because Yoshi.P has repeatedly said in interviews that they're having technical problems with the models of Hrothgar and Veira's headgear suffering severe clipping issues due to their unique head designs. In fact it's so bad that both races are launching with Headgear automatically locked in the off setting because of the sheer volume of head pieces that need to be fixed for their models.
Guess you could say i was hoping for a single clue that Eorzea had at least heard of Hrothgar in some way since the only ways to get from southern Islbard to Limsa/Gridania/Ul'dah is by foot(Ul'Dah since carriage is in Eastern Thanalan when attacked by Al'majaa/Gridania) or by boat to Thavnir then another boat to Eorzea(Limsa). Foot way requires to go through imperial occupied territory, Boat through more neutral means but both seem so odd for no one ever in Eorzea to have heard of Hrothgar(atm) and i think if you came across a Hrothgar who could speak the common tongue it would stick in your mind.Just because theyre from the same reigon doesn't mean they're from the same Area. The queen stuff can only apply to Helions as The Lost broke off from that lifestyle including any females associated with them and they value the freedom to travel that value shouldn't just be applied to males for going off and adventuring and that is why it rubs me the wrong way as its forcibly restricting them(same reason why i don't like male Viera lifestyle either)

All this is is a suggestion to make the future addition of the missing genders easier on the ressources should the current workflow not allow for two entirely new (gear)models.
I'm perfectly aware that they're not going to push out the two missing genders in the next three months and am gladly willing to wait until 6.0.
But hey, thanks for jumping to conclusions!
