I'm trying to decipher that PLD's thought process and the only explanation I can come up with is that he might have tried offsetting some dmg by turning them on you? Mind you, I had to really, really overreach to come up with this lol
Healing DRK is literally... the same since ShB. The reason why people think it's a meme to heal nowadays because DRK receives very little to no buff to their sustainability vs 3 other tanks getting something useful. If you're capable of healing DRK back in ShB (or any tanks), then you'll heal EW DRK just fine.
I did a Haukke manor where the RDM used jolt on packs of 8+ monsters and scatter on single targets/bosses.
I thought that at first but they had no reason to shirk me during the boss.

They really had absolutely no reason to not only mass pull like that in a low-level dungeon, do very little damage to get enmity, and then shirk a squishy dps on top of that. It's because of people like that that make me want to go back to tanking to actually show people and give people good experiences with tanks so that sort of atrocity does not happen.
Because of this, I feel like my tiny inner hamster has become angry and ripped off their shirt.
This one is beyond your help. Only sleep can save her now.
Quarn normal, DoRK as a tank. In full DoW gear, the greatsword was the only tank piece on them.
*dismal groaning*
Turns out I can tank the dungeon just fine as a Rez Mage if the healer knows what I'm up to.

I really despise people's attitudes in 24 mans sometimes (Lighthouse). They constantly complain, argue, etc when it'd simply be easier and faster to pay attention to mechanics or talk with each other about what they're doing wrong. I did verify if the only tank in tank stance was going to Mt and they said sure. Evidently some dps complained about boss spinning (also took a very long time to pull). I took over MT from the second boss onwards, and only because the dps decided they wanted to pull Belias.
There were no wipes but the dps was rather underwhelming due to how long each fight took, as well as a lot of death. These two things I'm not bothered by but rather how displeasing the attitudes of some people can be, including my own party.
So... this isn't really a single incident as much as a trend I started noticing lately. Over the past few weeks, wherever I go, be it dungeons, raids, alliance raids, trials, what-have-you, I've been running across so many healers... not casting their offensive spells, just... standing around, waiting for someone to get hurt, casting a heal, and returning to standby mode again. I don't think I've seen a Holy since I finished levelling WHM on my alt.
I make a point of never correcting other people's playstyle mid-duty (not worth stepping on potentially oversensitive toes) unless they explicitly ask for advice. So I just deal with it and remind myself I'm probably never going to run into that person again, and if they don't improve on their own, I'm sure someone more confrontational will yell at them sooner or later.
Still, it's becoming really hard to ignore and even harder to understand. I mean, I get that the game doesn't exactly do a good job of teaching healers to ABC, buuuut by the same token, it's also very consistent in its encounter design throughout the entire level range and spectrum of content. By the time they're 70, any healer would be attuned to the rhythm of FF14's combat and realise that damage in this game comes in generously spaced apart bursts rather than a constant stream, right? And more importantly, one would have to eventually notice that pushing a button once every 20 seconds is um... not terribly engaging? Surely there must be something else they could do to fill that void?
How do I steer "pure healers" towards the wonderful world of green DPS without making it sound like they're playing the game wrong?

I don't know what I did, but I think this BRD I had in Expert was mad at me. She stood in every single bad. The first boss that throws up on you, she stood right in it. I rescued her out of it, but she ran right back in. And even stood in the puddle. I took it as a challenge to keep her alive. It went okay except for that one attack the final boss does where you're suppose to stand on the platforms and the sewer water raises up. I never realized how much damage that does. It just straight up murdered her. The tank and other DPS were on it and stuff didn't die that much slower than normal. And I got the Mudpie minion.
You probably can't. Call me pessimistic but there's a good chance that they are already aware and entirely capable but simply choose not to. A good time ago a friend of mine who was progressing savage Alexander when it was relevant told me they slack off on everything else because it "Doesn't matter" and have personally run with healers who will admit to watching youtube/netflix to explain their lack of attention.
