Terminology-wise, "the Ardor" is the Ascians' term for Calamities/Rejoinings, so using it as a spell name might be a bit odd.
I simply mentioned it as a matter of interest to the conversation. I don't think this discussion was limited to what's strictly "canon" or not within the game. If we are going lore-wise, in the case of the Omega savage fights, these are actually further simulations run by Omega to continue testing the WoL's abilities.
To be fair, we also have an Ultima Weapon, an Ultima spell, and Ultima the High Seraph all within the scope of the game. I don't think it would be that strange to have an Ardor spell, especially when the Ascians have used that terminology so sparsely. I don't recall it having been used since post-ARR.
