Honestly, what truly needs to be done is these dungeons need to be redone so that they're more in line with the dungeons we have now. They're just letting it sit there, becoming more and more and more estranged from the rest of the content in the game.
Either redo the dungeon and quests surrounding it entirely, or make it a single player instance of some kind. The Ultima Weapon can remain in the game as a standard, end of launch trial that we've come to expect.
Main Scenario Roulette can then be changed to what it should be... a roulette for all of the main scenario dungeons and trials in the game. Any dungeon that you're required to go into as part of the main story is included, as well as any trial that's as part of the main story. Since every dungeon is 1 tank, 1 healer and 2 DPS, it can pair two groups together for any 8-man trial.
I think it is not good game design when you have to tab out of the game and enternain yourself by other means, instead of actually playing the game.
I'm not here to talk design. The two duties should have been made into solo instances a long time ago.
However, it's at least a good thing MSQ Roulette is a 100% optional thing to that people don't have to do.

They should honestly remove the roulette and either make it into solo instances, or somehow make it so it can only be accessed by Mentors, or give it a higher chance of popping in Mentor Roulette (like Labyrinth does in Alliance Raid Roulette.
Apparently people LOVE helping newbies so much. Why not implement it so that only people who care about helping newbies can do the roulette?
Agreed, I really feel like there should be some sort of mentor roulette that maybe separates people who haven't cleared from people who have, despite that sounding a bit ridiculous. They should honestly remove the roulette and either make it into solo instances, or somehow make it so it can only be accessed by Mentors, or give it a higher chance of popping in Mentor Roulette (like Labyrinth does in Alliance Raid Roulette.

Or, and this is a novel idea, you just don't queue for the ONLY roulette outside Mentor that has those two dungeons..and is ONLY those two dungeons...you don't like it? Don't queue for it. Simple as that. They should honestly remove the roulette and either make it into solo instances, or somehow make it so it can only be accessed by Mentors, or give it a higher chance of popping in Mentor Roulette (like Labyrinth does in Alliance Raid Roulette.

they made it worth almost a full level to entice people without taking into consideration that people motivated by greed aren't the best teammates.
They're putting in all the npc helper stuff now. Just make them solo instances and remove that roulette completely imo.
They're so braindead simple that even just cid, a few scions, and whatever nameless soldiers are story appropriate for that part of the story would be plenty doable
replace it with a rival wings roulette to make up the potential exp/tome loss. That friggain place is in desperate need of something to lure people in anyways
Think about that a bit more. An optional roulette that people only sign up to if they're willing to spend their time helping newbies through those dungeons? It's exactly what we already have. That is the sole purpose of MSQ Roulette and its tempting rewards (designed to compensate you for your time). They should honestly remove the roulette and either make it into solo instances, or somehow make it so it can only be accessed by Mentors, or give it a higher chance of popping in Mentor Roulette (like Labyrinth does in Alliance Raid Roulette.

Removing the roulette and leaving it to only be filled by mentors would achieve nothing except taking the optional roulette away from people who would be willing to help, but aren't mentors (or haven't fulfilled all the roulette requirements), while forcing more mentors to fill spots in those dungeons.
It would certainly have a higher chance of popping in mentor roulette if you did that - not by deliberate adjusting of the chances but because you'd need seven mentors (twice!) every time someone reached the end of ARR.
