They should honestly remove the roulette and either make it into solo instances, or somehow make it so it can only be accessed by Mentors, or give it a higher chance of popping in Mentor Roulette (like Labyrinth does in Alliance Raid Roulette.

Apparently people LOVE helping newbies so much. Why not implement it so that only people who care about helping newbies can do the roulette?

Agreed, I really feel like there should be some sort of mentor roulette that maybe separates people who haven't cleared from people who have, despite that sounding a bit ridiculous.

Or, and this is a novel idea, you just don't queue for the ONLY roulette outside Mentor that has those two dungeons..and is ONLY those two dungeons...you don't like it? Don't queue for it. Simple as that.

Think about that a bit more. An optional roulette that people only sign up to if they're willing to spend their time helping newbies through those dungeons? It's exactly what we already have. That is the sole purpose of MSQ Roulette and its tempting rewards (designed to compensate you for your time).

Removing the roulette and leaving it to only be filled by mentors would achieve nothing except taking the optional roulette away from people who would be willing to help, but aren't mentors (or haven't fulfilled all the roulette requirements), while forcing more mentors to fill spots in those dungeons.

It would certainly have a higher chance of popping in mentor roulette if you did that - not by deliberate adjusting of the chances but because you'd need seven mentors (twice!) every time someone reached the end of ARR.

I haven't queued for MSQ roulette since 4.0 lol

Hmm, my post wasn't serious; I really do think they should be reworked into solo instances.

I was just poking fun at the laughable state of Mentors in this game, and MSQ roulette in general; people need to be bribed to help out.

People have stated in the past they run the roulette for the satisfaction of helping out new players, but also bring up the rewards. I have my doubts that the helping is the primary motivation. So I just proposed essentially removing the rewards from MSQ and placing it in the roulette of people who are supposed to care about helping new players primarily.

We all know how badly it'd turn out.

I don’t think LotA popping more is due to a deliberate algorithm to make it pop more—it’s simply the one everyone has unlocked; and for those who won’t unlock more, your options are already extremely limited when you queue up for the roulette.
I figured the reason I used to get that horrible unfun instance almost all the time is that you have to run Labyrinth to get Syrcus Tower unlocked to unlock the Alliance Raid roulette itself, so there's more people queuing for it in general.

Nah, I think it’s more because everyone has it (and Sycrus Tower) unlocked to access the Roulette. And that’s probably the easiest way to get the most amount of EXP for leveling other jobs—the only Roulette that gives more EXP than Alliance Roulette is MSQ Roulette. I leveled all three of my tanks exclusively with Alliance Roulette because I’m really nervous about tanking dungeons—the EXP you get from it is astounding.

Exactly that. You can't roulette until you have at least two possibilities (eg. leveling roulette unlocks at Lv16 when you're eligible for both Sastasha and Tam-Tara) so everyone has to queue directly for Labyrinth when they first unlock it, then either directly queue for Syrcus Tower OR run the roulette for a 50% chance of either of those raids. Assuming they haven't already unlocked higher raids, anyway.

I'm at that point on an alt character. Did Labyrinth, unlocked Syrcus, ran the roulette instead of direct queuing, got Labyrinth for the second time in an hour. (And it very rudely dropped none of the Fuma gear for my ninja, except the eyepatch on both runs.)
