Ugh! Yeah, this is a problem for me when it happens. Not only do I feel like I failed, I also feel like I got carried. I know it's just a game, and I shouldn't let it get to me but I don't like to lose. It's even worse when the group is victorious, but I underperformed in the duty. This happened to me when I was in softball as well. If we won despite my crappy performance it was very invalidating, and I don't feel like I was needed at all. I feel like it would have been better if I was never there.

There have been a few occasions where I have done 'redemption runs' before proceeding with completing a quest that requires a duty clear. In fact, I won't clear them until not only am I on my feet when the boss dies, but I am also satisfied with my performance, which usually requires that I don't get KO'd at all during the encounter unless it isn't my fault.

Pretty much the exact same here, where I left the text. A clear is a clear, but it bums me to hell if I'm the one getting caught messing up mechanics and making others scramble to play catch-up from my lacking performance.
