You're working yourself into an expectation and I'd advise you to pull back a bit. I'm not saying to not have hope, but going about it in the way you are is setting yourself up for potential disappointment.

In all honesty we rarely get much in the way of announcements outside of Live Letters or Fanfests, so I wouldn't hold out for hearing anything at least until the next Live Letter in May.

They already did give a response. Keep in mind they are at peak busy time now with Shadowbringers, there will be literally no time to address anything else until at least crunch ends sometime in May/June.

Just hoping we get a favorable response, even if it means a lot of waiting ahead.
Much of the excitement I had for viera was that we'd finally be able to see and play as male viera, so this announcement was very disappointing.

Honestly, I would prefer the body type to be closer to what Yoshi P mentioned. Don't get me wrong I love a shorter cute male race option that isn't lala. I personally think that should have added Ivalician Moogles for a cute shorter option.

It so hard to please everyone but as long as male viera get added at some point I'll be happy!

I'm not sure why this thread is such a hot target. Most of what happens in here is polite sharing of ideas and speculation, nice fanart with a nice range of build ideas gets posted and there's an occasional light debate about height. (All of which are helpful to developers since they have said they're watching feedback for this particular thing--what "Yoshi said," in fact, is "we're looking into it.")

I haven't seen people get this worked up about folks wanting rabbits since I raised the things.

People have been linking it to the threads on /v/ I'm assuming the posters that haven't been banned see at as "sticking it to the SJWs." or "Trolling butthurt forum posters"

Again it's just attention seeking, threads that actually support genderlocking barely get any notice, most of the people who say "I WILL UNSUB IF THEY ADD THE OPPOSITE GENDERS" are only really doing it in reply to people who want both genders as a way to agitate them.

Tis the consequence of actually having more than 100 likes on your post.

I've said this before as a reply to the post with the screenshot from the gender lock thread relating to Miqo's and Roes. I BET a bunch of those same trolls end up swapping to a bun bro or a hrothgal if they get released. It's to the point where that's becoming a major reason why I want to see mViera and fHrothgar in the game.
