Had a BLM complain in Orbonne that his DPS was too good and that's why he ripped hate.

Secretly I knew, it wasn't, and that he was the only individual with the issue. Someone asked him if he was using Diversion/Lucid, he claimed he used them on CD (He didn't).

I still don't feel bad for using him as an arm shot cool down.

The hilarious thing is that you can tell who raids and who doesn't by how they manage their aggro.

People who really care about having big dick DPS are not going to risk outright dying just to show off because they didn't manage their aggro correctly, because nothing tanks your DPS faster than kissing the floor.

These days as a Bard, I really wish I actually had a Diversion-type skill. Refresh and Tactician just don't cut it sometimes, especially in dungeons when you might have used both prior to a boss fight.

Had someone the other day who was clearly still learning mch, so I was giving them pointers which I think they appreciated as they started doing what I suggested. At the end of the dungeon I stopped to give them some advise on setting up wild fire, then they posted a macro the the chat with something along the lines of:

/ac Flamethrower
/ac wildfire
/ac reload
/ac rapidfire
ect.
"So would this do it then?"

Turns out they had their entire entire "rotation" mapped to like a few buttons (those being their GCDs and placing turrets) and said "A youtuber I watched said its okay to do if I don't run savage, I know its worse but I had enough of keyboard piano from WoW". So much to dissect here but holy shit seriously? I will never understand people who know they are doing something subpar and don't put the effort in to change that, also moving from a game with less buttons to more buttons because youre tired of hitting buttons, wat?

I was in that raid and I can confirm that guy had issues. I joined I think at the second boss for a tank replacement. He never used any enmity dumps and kept bragging about having BiS gear. Well I don’t see eureka weapons with bad sub stats as the best in the game. He was with his fc or friends I think and they struggled with healing/general mechanics. Now at the end of thunder god cid I got a bit mouthy when the blm used a lb maco that had a three paragraph to it, spamming up my chat. I mentioned that it was pretty cringe and he threw an absolute fit. Him and his friends then refused to do anything on the last boss and we of course die and I ended up being dismissed before we can re try the final boss. I wasn’t to upset about being dismissed funny enough, just his general attitude along with his friends. All of them were from Mateus I believe.

Did a run of Castrum Abania with a PLD who had level 250 clothing and died a couple of times on the last boss due to being killed in one shot. :P

You don't even need to raid seriously to understand that free aggro reduction skills are nothing but a good thing. I have to imagine some people aren't paying attention to the aggro table because why would you willingly let yourself die?

Oh yeah I remember your name from there, but for a BiS BLM he tended to do less DPS than I was doing, which makes me wonder what he uh, was doing.

(I actually uploaded the log to see whether or not he was being honest about using diversion/lucid -- he used it 1 time in four bosses or so? Maybe one more time on a different boss).

I was just hoping he'd pull on other bosses tbh, more since if a player can't be bothered to use their free threat abilities I can't be bothered to do a butcher's block.

I sometimes do sub-par methods, but they're almost always on dungeons that don't match my level 70 hotbars too well at level 15 or so. I'm not rearranging my entire hotbar for a dps boost on Satasha. Nobody who is level synced dies on Satasha. Ever.

But my stubbornness ends there. No, really. It does.

I used to macro combos a looong time ago, but that was because I was still searching for a way to quickly and efficiently access all my abilities on the fly. Eventually, I decided to map multiple hotbars to a 12-button mouse and use keyboard toggles (hold ctrl, etc) to switch between them.

I will never go back. You don't gain anything in this game for being lazy. Doing more dps is worth getting creative with your mouse and hotbar arrangement.

On a side note, to contribute to the whole "stories" aspect of this thread, a healer kept using raise on me on Shinryu. Yes, I was playing DRG. No, I wasn't dead. Yes, I knew they were raising me, because, well, chat macros. Most of the time, I was either at full health or close to it. Bad luck on trials roulette tends to make you memorize the fights you hate the most.

I understand that people need to keep the lol-drg meme going, but please make sure the meme actually applies before commencing it. In other words, if you're a healer, make sure I'm dead first.

Sounds like an all around doosh, but if his dps wasn't as good as his bragging entailed then he shouldn't have pulled hate unless he stole it early and no one bothered to get it back. I have Diversion but the CD is pretty bad in relation to my rotations. Thankfully mechanics movement helps fill that time a bit.

I have all augmented tome gear with full melds and I rarely have to use diversion outside of my opener and/or a burst window. Or emegencies. I'd have probably initiated vote-kick for purely for the macro spam tho. Thats so annoying.
