I had to pay $8 because my fiance, and a bunch of friends I play with (Many of which are playing catch up from only just having resubbed since 4.15), were jumping to another server and I wanted to play with them. Also I never said I wasn't playing. I log in daily to work on things in game

And if it was a sentimental keepsake, why was it on a retainer you didn't care about enough to let go for 3 years. Doesn't sound very sentimental to me.

Also how come the "free" server transfer requires you to subscribe to the game on these dead months of nothing between expansions?
It's not even free server transfer, just discounted server transfer, for the vast majority of players that realize there's been nothing going on since Alphascape and use their sub money wiser than paying for housing afk simulator.

It's almost like they are giving an incentive to people currently playing their game. Not everyone leaves when nothing new is happening. I haven't taken a break in over 3 years, and that was only due to moving to the entire opposite side of the country.

For what it's worth, I do feel get the annoyance of having to purchase an extra retainer again just to clear out an invitation that you had no idea would affect a transfer. I'm sure many of us have some random item that we've totally forgotten about stashed away on a retainer somewhere. And why do invitations not just poof after the event date anyway? However, I think your title and approach were probably not the best way to garner any sympathy from the forums. :X

Contact a GM. They may be able to help you with this. I agree that this is a silly issue that shouldn't exist, but you are being a bit hostile. SE didn't screw you over. They didn't force you to keep the invitation nor did they make you store it on a paid retainer.
