Genderlock reminder to SE

I'm just here to let SE know how much I'd like to enjoy these things in-game.

What doesn't make sense to me is people coming in to try and argue about that, since nothing they say will change the fact that I would like to play a male viera and equip restricted gear. No one is going to convince me I don't want those things or that they aren't worth adding. Truly, I would trade every existing and future allied raid for the ability to wear a maid uniform on my male elezen. While I don't think that's a possible or necessary trade, I do think it's a good example of how player priorities and interests are not universal - and that's fine, this game is big.

A lot of the opposition that requests get sounds like this to me:

"These flavors are good but any chance you could carry rocky road too? It's my favorite."
"Stop demanding new flavors. Chocolate does not need marshmallows or nuts in it, that's disgusting. Chocolate should just be chocolate."
"You wouldn't have to eat it, and they would still have chocolate and other flavors."
"Un-ac-ceptable."
"Okay, well... A lot of us would enjoy it if rocky road was offered too."

Ultimately, it's up to SE if they think they have the resources to match the interest, so arguing on their behalf is pointless.

These are discussion forums and no one really wants to see 4-5 threads of "WE WANT FEMALE HROTHGAR NOW" / "WE WANT MALE VIERA NOW"/ "REMOVE GENDERLOCK" / "KEEP GENDERLOCK" / "KEEP HROTHGAR MALE ONLY" / "KEEP VIERA FEMALE ONLY" soapboxes. People disagreeing with you aren't harassing you by countering.

Trying to undermine the feedback of over 3000+ players because a select few of them keep making needless topics about it isn't being fair to the issue.

How can you lock something that doesn't exist?

They aren't gender locked. There weren't funds or development time to produce 2 male and 2 female versions of a race. The development team made that abundantly clear so the concept of gender lock technically doesn't exist. They didn't lock them they just didn't make them. Question that remains to be seen is will they. Perhaps they'll find funds and development time to do so but I hope if they do it will not take away from other projects that would have been made in order to accommodate their development.

It's also important to note that if they are made for 6.0 all the gear we get with 5.0 will also have to be adjusted to fit the new genders. It'll be interesting to see how the development team reviews the feedback and what response we'll get when they are ready to make one.

No one is undermining the feedback just because they say they don't want to see multiple threads about it. Learn to accept that people will disagree on the subject with you and that the tone of the argument can flavor their opinions just as quickly. I support having male Viera and female Hrothgar but I also don't need to see the general discussion filled with multiple threads "JUST TO REMIND YOU GUYS. WE DO WANT THIS".

I especially don't want these if they take away from other discussions or development issues. I certainly don't want them to rush to put them out when it already took something like 2 years to just barely get out Hrothgar. (Or however much time it actually was when Return to Ivalice was finalized.)

I don't understand people getting so offended that we're requesting something be added to the game. If it bothers you that much, why not ignore the subject altogether? You guys are the ones traipsing into threads talking about the genderlock. What did you expect?

You can't handle when someone has a different opinion?

This forum isn't just for pro male viera/female ronso players only, its for EVERYONE.

So you'll have to deal with differing opinions.

This is a controversial topic, and if you can't handle choice words in response then just stay clear of these discussions.

People aren't against things being added to the game, people are understanding why they couldn't add them. And these types of threads with ZERO research or knowledge keep popping up and flooding GD.

Everyone thinks their opinion is unique and deserves its own thread.

We need to keep these types of conversations into a single thread instead of spreading it out.

People's opinion's will get lost in the sea of threads, instead of having everyone's opinion in one big massive thread. Which btw already exists.

That was my point.. There is no "gender lock" on the new races. The term assumes there was something created that we're being forbidden from accessing, and that's not the case at all. But it is common nowadays to use bombastic language to entice the imagination into creating a boogeyman.

I didn't make this topic and I don't think we need anymore topics about the subject either. I just take issue with how dismissive people are being of others opinions. People don't get that this goes both ways. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions on the matter and trying to undermine people just because you're annoyed that they keep making topics about it is just shortsighted to me. Most people who want the genderlocks removed aren't making new topics about it. If we all were you'd have like 3000 of them.
