Orrr…. we acknowledge that the all female Viera and all male Hrothgar are being implemented without being able to show headgear, which means they barely had enough time to get them out by expansion release, and with that in mind we'd' much rather the dev team focus on other things that actually affect gameplay. We also acknowledge how much time and hard work they go through and commend them for it instead of condemn them for lack of completed races, which we find to be far more petty.

Comments like yours that make assumptions is exactly where those who support genderlock (i.e. support the dev team's decision) get the impression that you lot are just a bunch of self-entitled, bickering babies who can't actually post anything of merit. What we see is that many players want more options, and we indeed did get two more of them, and many of you are still unhappy. But that within itself is ok. It's ok to be disappointed that there are no male Viera and female Hrothgar. However, mongering comments such as yours make you come off as severely unappreciative of what the devs have to go through and the very game you're playing.

Can't you guys go through one day without bringing up the genderlock thing? It's not like they're just going to drop what they're doing regarding the entire expansion right now, especially when the XV event is coming soon, in order to suddenly design a male Viera and female Hrothgar when they just said that the funds and time weren't there for them right now.

Keep in mind that those 4700 are not from the forums. Those are from an unofficial poll where the number of those against gender-locking are at least 1000 more than those on the forums here.

about other mediums like Reddit. Anybody could use Reddit, not just active FF14 players. So a random person that doesn't even play the game could use the FF14 reddit. So if there was a poll on Reddit, it would be heavily skewed since anybody could add their two sense..

As previously stated, unless it's an official poll then other sources shouldn't be taken as absolute. Anyone can cheat a poll to influence the desired result they want, it's also quite easy to jump on a bandwagon immediately and vote one particular way without giving it enough thought.
