I don't want a slender twink bunny man, I want them to actually resemble men. Please either offer a variety or make them look different compared to the slender female.[MEGATHREAD]
Like this post if you want male viera as a playable character
Please add male viera with Omega M's body type or the body type shown in these concept arts
EDIT:
I made an edit to the concept art
I made the shoulders less broad, the neck a tad bit shorter, and removed the fur.
I think this is a good body type for male viera
As long as the male viera are slim, and just a little bit shorter than the female viera, I think that would be cool. The female viera are pretty tall in general, so even if the males are a little shorter, they'd still look cool
Check out this male viera and female hrothgar poll
If you guys have any male viera fanart you'd like to post in this thread, feel free to do so. Sharing art is a great way to show your support in a positive way.
I'm not a roleplayer, but if you guys created a character backstory about a male viera, you're welcome to post that, too.
Please make sure to share this thread with other people and remind them to leave a "like" on this post. Try to encourage your friends who don't really use the forums often, or who have not registered, to please do so and leave a like. Leaving the devs feedback is also really important. Share this thread on your twitter/facebook/whatever.
Hmm they can be twinks and resemble men, there are many men and all of them are different. Roegadyns resemble men as much as catboys
So someone is only a man if they are not slender? I mean what exactly is not man enough about Omega M?
Edit: The best they could do imo is making the two clans different for the males. Have one clan with more muscle and the other one more slender. (Exactly how I wanted the Au Ra to be...one small and slender, the other more buff since the women are warriors..)
The same with Hrothgar women. (The Ronso slender form and the really buff Hrothgar one)
In the end I find it really funny how people attacked others on this forum for wanting a more slender type and yet it seems that this is also the ones that the JP players wants (and they even go way more into this since that one picture really looks like a child..)

I really don't get why some people want buff male viera when we already have highlander, au ra, roegadyn, and now hrothgar. And we already have characters with wide torsos as well like midlander and even miqo'te. I really just don't get it. There are plenty of other people who want small viera, too. I honestly think the best way to please both groups would be to have an omega m body type because it's the best compromise.
When you ask for buff viera, you alienate the people who want smaller viera, and when you ask for small viera, you do the same to the people who want them buff. So instead of asking for buff or small, why not go with the best in-between option that'll have the most people satisfied? I genuinely don't think people will be so disappointed if we got omega m's body type for male viera.
Instead of fighting over big or small, we should all collectively support this body type. I really think it should be in the OP front and center, because I think it's a body type most people can get behind. A lot of the people in this thread seem to like omega m's body type, and it seems like this body type has good reception in the japanese forums too.
Because saying either of those would scratch the same itch as a buff male Viera is being really reductive in what races offer. It's focusing on the one aspect of them and ignoring the overall package. The aesthetics themselves overall are different, before we get into the animations and mannerism, and of course, for those of us who care for that sort of thing, attached lore.
It's part of why when I made one of my alts, I wanted her to be a fem Au Ra but ended up going with a fem Miqo'te. They both fit the niche of petite waifus but they're not interchangeable. Playing one is a vastly different experience to playing the other.
People who want Feol would not be happy with Omega M. People who want buffier Viera would not be happy with Omega M. I mean if that's what we ended up getting I'd still play it and break that muscle slider on max, but I care very little for the aesthetic of a male Elezen, and if they replicate it into male Viera it would dampen some of my enjoyment of the race. When you ask for buff viera, you alienate the people who want smaller viera, and when you ask for small viera, you do the same to the people who want them buff. So instead of asking for buff or small, why not go with the best in-between option that'll have the most people satisfied? They won't be able to please everyone, they know that. The very idea of a 'compromise' means that if people will be ok with it, they won't be as satisfied as they could've been with anything else. Let's not pretend otherwise.
Your bias is showing. If anything, so far I've seen more support for the artworks that showecased beefier bunnies. All we can do is each show support for what we prefer, and let the devs decide which to go with.Instead of fighting over big or small, we should all collectively support this body type.
As was brought up in the thread before, this is a thread first and foremost about the inclusion of male Viera in the game, period. You should not show preference for any specific design in the op, both because it would show an inaccurate image of what people in the thread feel like to the devs, as well as perhaps ward away people who want to support male Viera, but "not like that"I really think it should be in the OP front and center, because I think it's a body type most people can get behind. A lot of the people in this thread seem to like omega m's body type, and it seems like this body type has good reception in the japanese forums too.
Hey no come back here, that's not fair!

I do have my preferences too and would like Viera to be certain type, but I dont think (speaking in general) that the pro-male Viera hast to start fighting each other. Everyone wants Viera to be a certain way, even the JP community has different opinions on this matter. If male buns would really end up bulky as you said, I wouldnt call them elegant or slim (Yoshi's statement).
Beside if the larger community thinks about bulky male Viera, I doubt anyone would call them sexist? This whole debacle only happened because they think the dev team is against feminine/beautiful/bishounen males?
I can only speak for myself, but if mViera truly end up beefcakes, I wont touch them. But I still would not support genderlocks.
Slim definitely, but they can still be elegant while muscular, those two are not mutually exclusive.
And just because Yoshi P said that's how he envisioned them, doesn't necessarily means that's what we'll get, assuming they really take community feedback into account. Remember the original concept art? They're shown as quite muscular there with a certain physique that's not quite Elezen-esque.
That's part of it but there's much more to the genderlocks and the surrounding circumstances that got people to complain about sexism. And if anything, making male Viera that bulky while the females are what we've gotten would still play into tropes along those lines and won't solve that much. But it's nothing I care getting into in more depth right now. This whole debacle only happened because they think the dev team is against feminine/beautiful/bishounen males?
To be fair, no one wants them to be Roes. But if they'll be more like male Au Ra than male Elezen, I personally will be quite the happy camper.I can only speak for myself, but if mViera truly end up beefcakes, I wont touch them. But I still would not support genderlocks.
