Well i find it odd that samurais a dps still and not a tank.

It's not so much balance as it is that Dark Knight's Dark Arts spam is boring and people want it changed. In terms of their damage vs utility vs other tanks, they seem to be pretty balanced.
Ever since Yoshi P mentioned back in ARR that such a job would be possible once we got closer to Garlemald I have been waiting very patiently. FF8 is/was my favorite FF title out of them all and Squall ended up being my favorite FF character as a result. To say the idea of a gunblade-wielding job made me happy would be a huge understatement. All this time I sorta figured it would be a tank but I wouldn't have complained if it was a dps, seeing as I have been a dps main for years across multiple MMOs. And I was right about it being a tank...but that's fine. I started my time in FF XI as a DRG and ended it as a PLD which I actually enjoyed a whole lot more. I suppose Gunbreaker is a return to my roots and I welcome it with open arms. It may break your heart, OP, but it completes mine.
I love how people consider their favorite jobs being anything other than dps is a punishment or a slap in the face to dps players. Are tanks not allowed to have jobs to play? Or do they only deserve the jobs no one cares about because tanks don't deserve the cool ones?
Usually they're mad the job comes with "responsibility" because of its role, and that's yucky because responsibility means you get blamed when you make a mistake everyone sees.I love how people consider their favorite jobs being anything other than dps is a punishment or a slap in the face to dps players. Can't slide in with 8 apm and get your head patted for trying your best. And when you push 10 apm everyone's so excited!
The silliest part of all of this is at the normal level, taking is the easiest role to play by far. But the stigma of yucky responsibility attracts people to the role they absolutely shouldn't take if they only want to stick with "good enough": dps.
I don't really understand why people think that being tank is hard. Yes, it's not easy-peasy. Yes, it's a responsible job, but not much more than dps jobs itself. Tbh, if we take such content as Savage raids, they are even more responsible because of tough dps check. That be said, all roles have quite the same level of responsibility when it's about high-end content.Usually they're mad the job comes with "responsibility" because of its role, and that's yucky because responsibility means you get blamed when you make a mistake everyone sees.

Hai! I'm Vahl, in ur mmorpgs, sort'n my inventory and putt'n 2 many H's in my name since FFXI..FFXIV Inventory Tetris Champ
And this is why I am not sure what to think about a new Tank.
Not that I would not like a new Tank, but they are not able to release a Addon, that not makes one of the Tanks the unloved Stepchild.
tbh Yoshi explained well why they add 4th one. It's not like they are not balanced (they are, quite well, though DRK's DA spamming is a little bit boring) it's more about the whole idea of MT/OT. Not like you can't be MT with "OT" one or vice versa, but still. Doesn't matter how you will adjust them, it will be 2:1 proportion - 1 MT and 2 OT, 2 MT and 1 OT. With 4th they can do it 2:2. Who really need rebalance are healers.
