You say that when one tank is being completely re-worked because of balance issues, and yet they are getting another one.
It's not so much being reworked, as it is being adjusted. There is nothing wrong with PLD as a tank, WAR and DRK are just OP because of the DMG they do. Right now there is no real reason to pick PLD as Main over the other two. Where as for healers, the system itself is broken, Also currently because of the skills PLD has, it works as a perfect off tank and there is no other class that can take that spot, even though we have 3 tanks.
Yoshi-P said in an interview that he doesn't like the fact that there is a class that can't be replaced. He wants balance so there are at least two classes that can do each job. The example he used is at least two different jobs that can be Main and two that can be Off. He made a point to say that, it doesn't mean the 4 tanks will be split as 2 Main and 2 Off, but rather it was just an example of how he wants balance. His goal is to make it so a specific role can be accomplished by at least two different jobs and isn't dependent on a single class. The problem with healers is that SCH is OP in both main and off roles and WHM falls behind in both roles. The system itself is broken and it's not just a matter of making one stronger or nerfing another.

It's not so much balance as it is that Dark Knight's Dark Arts spam is boring and people want it changed. In terms of their damage vs utility vs other tanks, they seem to be pretty balanced.
And this is why I am not sure what to think about a new Tank.
Not that I would not like a new Tank, but they are not able to release a Addon, that not makes one of the Tanks the unloved Stepchild.

tbh Yoshi explained well why they add 4th one. It's not like they are not balanced (they are, quite well, though DRK's DA spamming is a little bit boring) it's more about the whole idea of MT/OT. Not like you can't be MT with "OT" one or vice versa, but still. Doesn't matter how you will adjust them, it will be 2:1 proportion - 1 MT and 2 OT, 2 MT and 1 OT. With 4th they can do it 2:2. Who really need rebalance are healers.

Yoshida made it pretty clear over the last couple days in interviews that he feels it's borderline impossible to balance "barrier healer", as he put it, versus regen healer, and the main goal for them in ShB is to pretty fundamentally change the jobs.tbh Yoshi explained well why they add 4th one.
