They have their limits and they have to make wise decisions to invest their resources as profitable as possible. It isn't difficult to notice that adding new races was their last minute idea - that's why they seem to be unfinished. Of course, FFXIV earns now probably more money than in the day of ARR's premiere, but they're SE's money and probably only a piece of them is spent on developing FFXIV. Making a game is a very difficult and complex process, it involves many different people and forces you to make decisions you sometimes don't want to make. And because we really don't know what is happening behind SE's door, we just need to be patient and wait for the results of the Yoshi's team work. Maybe now they need our support more than ever.
I am well aware of the woes of game development. However, the fact the amount of worker has diminished or the money isn't spent on the game should not be a burden for the players to bear. We are expecting a certain level of quality, quality that was provided to us in the past from the same team. If releasing finished and feature content is no longer a priority, it should be reflected in a lower monthly fee or lower expansion price. The company should always consider themselves in a situation of life or death, you can't drop the ball and then expect players to be fine with it. Calling it as it is, a sub par product (as per information provided to us) is, in a sense, doing them a service. We are using our voice as customers to tell them what we tolerate and what we don't.

Doing one race and doing it feature complete should have been a priority. If Viera wasn't possible then pick something else and explain to players why it wasn't possible. I guarantee you, no one wanted a thrown together race. If it was a last minute idea it was a terrible idea. I don't want a vague mention of "we'll make some head piece possible to be shown over time", I want a definite promise that this is a priority. As customer, we have become accustomed to accepting unfinished products being released. Two half assed races as a feature of an expansion to be completed later is no different than having a AAA title release with missing or unfinished features and having to accept that it'll be patched in later. This is unacceptable, and is quite frankly insulting to your customer base.
