Yeah, helms I understand, but glasses? Seems like it would only need slight tweaking compared to helms.

So let me get this straight, in HW we got 3 jobs and 1 full complete race. During ARR leading up to it we got a full job as well.
Shadowbringers is giving us 2 jobs, 1/4 viera, 1/4 hrothgar and leading up to it we got 1/2 a job. Wut!?
What happened? What is going on at SE exactly? "It takes time to do it the way you want us to do it cuz we have to make every piece of gear work" Then freaking do it 0_0 who cares how long it takes. Don't have time to do 2 races well, just do one well, hell they cant even do 1 gender of 1 race work properly with the gear. Show me who the hell wanted this?? I actually don't really care about gender lock, it was an evil I was willing to live with. But not headgear?
People saying that "they dont have the ressources" or "they dont have the time" -_- as stated above, they somehow had it back in ARR and HW time and the game is arguably doing even better now than back then. So the only explanation, is either they are getting complacent, and aren't doing things to actually please the player base, at least in terms of quality (what the hell happened to the Yoshi-P that was willing to put quality above all else) OR the money generated by the game is being funneled away from it.
IN any case, whatever the reason, this is a shitshow and needs to be fixed.
Part of me wants to believe they are working on a new engine or something to improve the game, but perhaps that's just wishful thinking. I've noticed a decline of content from ARR to Stormblood as well, so I do wonder what's going on over there. So let me get this straight, in HW we got 3 jobs and 1 full complete race. No glasses, no bunny for me then /sigh oh well..I have Dancer at least
When they were improving ARR, it was a matter of life or death for them - now the situation is stable, so I suppose that the amount of their workers isn't as big as it was when they were fighting to survive and had to change the entire game. They have their limits and they have to make wise decisions to invest their resources as profitable as possible. It isn't difficult to notice that adding new races was their last minute idea - that's why they seem to be unfinished. Of course, FFXIV earns now probably more money than in the day of ARR's premiere, but they're SE's money and probably only a piece of them is spent on developing FFXIV. Making a game is a very difficult and complex process, it involves many different people and forces you to make decisions you sometimes don't want to make. And because we really don't know what is happening behind SE's door, we just need to be patient and wait for the results of the Yoshi's team work. Maybe now they need our support more than ever.So let me get this straight, in HW we got 3 jobs and 1 full complete race. During ARR leading up to it we got a full job as well.

I imagine that for helmets to work, it'd take a ton of extra work to accommodate the ears. If only limited existing headgear work to start and then any new gear is made wit the new races in mind, I'd be fine with that.
Of course, I tend to only wear glamoured headpieces anyway because my character has pigtails and I hate any gear that cuts off my hair...so this headgear issue won't effect me much. As long as we get the effects of having it equipped, I don't care much about if I see it.
I am well aware of the woes of game development. However, the fact the amount of worker has diminished or the money isn't spent on the game should not be a burden for the players to bear. We are expecting a certain level of quality, quality that was provided to us in the past from the same team. If releasing finished and feature content is no longer a priority, it should be reflected in a lower monthly fee or lower expansion price. The company should always consider themselves in a situation of life or death, you can't drop the ball and then expect players to be fine with it. Calling it as it is, a sub par product (as per information provided to us) is, in a sense, doing them a service. We are using our voice as customers to tell them what we tolerate and what we don't.When they were improving ARR, it was a matter of life or death for them - now the situation is stable, so I suppose that the amount of their workers isn't as big as it was when they were fighting to survive and had to change the entire game. Doing one race and doing it feature complete should have been a priority. If Viera wasn't possible then pick something else and explain to players why it wasn't possible. I guarantee you, no one wanted a thrown together race. If it was a last minute idea it was a terrible idea. I don't want a vague mention of "we'll make some head piece possible to be shown over time", I want a definite promise that this is a priority. As customer, we have become accustomed to accepting unfinished products being released. Two half assed races as a feature of an expansion to be completed later is no different than having a AAA title release with missing or unfinished features and having to accept that it'll be patched in later. This is unacceptable, and is quite frankly insulting to your customer base.
I can see them doing something pretty bad with glasses like they just wrap around there head and just look awkward
Actually it would be easier for the new races. All they had to do was cut the space/polygons around the ear areas and done. They could do an ear pocket for maybe hrothgar but like yoshi-p said, not enough resources so this is the best course of action. The rest is probably hairstyle adjustment. No different from any other races.I imagine that for helmets to work, it'd take a ton of extra work to accommodate the ears.
