Simply, it is not a nice way to reward people for doing things in-game. not at all

I lost my faith on SE. It looks like 'data wipe' for me. if they doing it now, what prevent them to do it again later when PS2 release / 2.0 release !! what prevent them from saying to raise your cap you need to get X achievement !!

I do not trust SE anymore

sorry, but this is my opinion.
If I'm not mistaken, there is an achievement for getting a gathering class to level 10, 20, etc. There's also an achievement for gathering a certain number of times in a particular region. You got level 50 in one or more (all) gathering classes. Great. But you want all the regional gathering achievements given to you? When you might not have gathered the required number of times in every region?

Let's muddy the waters even farther with gathering leves that give bonus exp in terms of a leve completion bonus and when using guardian's favor, quest/mission rewards excepted with your gathering job, or just bonus exp gained from reading one of those GC manuals.

However, for every 10 levels you earned in a gathering class, you most likely made the number of gatherings they're asking for that grade (20, 300, 1000, 2000 and 4000) and I think you could make a strong case that, by default, you should have had the gathering achievements unlocked based on your level for the region associated with your starting city. (For example: if I'm a level 20 botanist from Gridania, I get the grade I and grade II achievements unlocked for the Black Shroud region.) But nothing more. The rest are on you to do.

Achievements are meant to be busy work. So let's get busy.
