You're responding to everyone with passive aggressive comments and throwing your attitude around like it carries a weight above others. It does not. It makes you look smaller in comparison towards the people who are remaining gentle with their criticisms about what you're saying and your actions belittle the point that you're trying to make.If you think this is hostile I'd love to know what you consider what the rest of the other fallacy is regarding this mess is? Consider this... I have just as much right as anyone else to use these forums. And FYI, kindly I might add XD, I have glanced over the interviews. Glanced I say because working the hours I do doesn't allow me much time to rest never mind go over game related things. I haven't even played in 3 weeks. So before you soapbox me on how uninformed I am remember this: I don't have time to read a book.
I work 7 days a week, take care of three people, run and manage four online storefronts for my personal side business, and still find time to socialize with others, catch up on current events, etc. I'm lucky if I sleep 5 1/2 to six hours a day. I've gotten used to it. I can run on 4 if need be.
I haven't fully played XIV in months. I'm lucky if I log in twice a month?
What's your final point? That we should excuse you because your life is busy? Everyone has a busy life, you're not special.
You have time, you just didn't care to to actually put in the effort first before getting on your soapbox to rant about things instead. Feelings over facts, after all. If you can't handle criticism about your actions and how you're portraying yourself, then maybe the internet is not for you.

and the snowflakes threads keep going on and on…
I guess a character model is the only thing that constitutes as "fresh" for some people. I can't wait to see how that affects how I play the game.
The ire is actually coming from a bunch of morons who believed they were entitled to something that was never promised and instead of moving on and playing the rest of this wonderful game, they decide to act like disgusting brats about it.
I guess it's unrelated to this topic at hand, but you came off as passive aggressive in my thread, you know.
And everyone above your post, save for one I guess, seemed pretty reasonable. If you were referring to that post, there was no need to use "you guys" in a plural sense. Why did you come off as passive aggressive in my thread, or am I reading that wrong? I'm not mad, just curious. I don't like the drama either.
Toxic attitudes like yours is exactly why there needs to be even more vocal feedback, to drown out the spiteful, selfish voices who got theirs and hope that nobody else gets what they want. What makes you so hateful anyway?
I didn't see any of that because the people who ACTUALLY didn't care about the issue didn't post about it, attacking those who did care. You must've missed the parts where people who don't care about the gender lock issue get called sexist and misogynist. It's that disgusting sentiment that bred my attitude and people like you need to stop thinking the toxicity is one way because it's filthy in its own right.

hey its okay if you dont care. its okay if youre hyped for your bunny girl and lion man. all thats fine. but the fact is the hrothgar/viera design philosophy of "men big stronk, ladies small cute" (just like in the au ra, galka and mithra) is kind of a little bit sexist. being hyped for your new character isnt sexist tho, relax.
Vieras and Ronsos already existed for years. Their "design philosophy" have nothing in common, and the reason why we get these two have been explained already.hey its okay if you dont care. its okay if youre hyped for your bunny girl and lion man. all thats fine. but the fact is the hrothgar/viera design philosophy of "men big stronk, ladies small cute" (just like in the au ra, galka and mithra) is kind of a little bit sexist. being hyped for your new character isnt sexist tho, relax.
Square Enix wanted to make or import a new type of playable race that didn't exist before in FFXIV. They choose to go the bestial way and picked the already existing Ronso. But since they knew people would get pissed if they didn't get Vieras, they cut female Ronsos and imported female Vieras instead. (Also meaning that anyone who said that we got male Ronso at the expense of male Viera cannot be farther from the truth, as the exact opposite actually happened.)
Ronsos are "men big stronk", because they have always been.
Vieras are "ladies small cute", because they have always been.
There is literally nothing new about these races, and there is absolutly no link to any kind of sexism either. Besides, the choice of using male Ronsos and female Vieras instead of female Ronsos and male Vieras was obviously made because the most iconic characters representing these races/genders are Fran and Kimahri.
If you see any sexism in there, it only comes from your own biased and unfounded interpretation of things, and has no actual connection with the reality behind the reasons why these choices were made.
