why aphinaud? we already have a small slim race with male miqo'tes.
I'd prefer like the artwork of them, lean, defined and tall. like the elezen without that huge neck.

THe ideal in my head is that the Rava have the taller, lean muscle warriors and the Veena are the softer more feminine ones.
if they just say that they'll be introducing them later on due to fan feedback, i'll be 100% fine with this. if miquote stayed female only then this would be water under a bridge.. but they didn't. so doing the exact same thing to vierra is kinda weird

I'd be okay with this, but I'd also be okay with a body type similar to Omega M. Lean and toned. Lithe but deadly.Personally, like a lot of others, I'd base it on Alphinaud's body. Make a smaller male to go with the larger females. It'd fit their lore too - If they're reclusive and deadly stalkers that lurk in their own woods, being a tall lanky boy or a big muscle man would be counter to that. Being small but fit and agile would fit quite well.

I think that would be the best way forward, but by adding two new races, it's perhaps become that much more difficult to do it, unless they just add a muscle tone slider and bigger height range for one, to allow for shorter and less toned characters.

When the game's story becomes self-aware:
That seems like a good idea. If they really want to save money they could just rehash the female animations of the Viera for the smaller male ones. It wouldn't seem so out of place for them at that point.
No to male Viera. Keep it gender locked the way it was intended.

Please yoshida and devs take on the challenge and deliver this so that we all can be happy and not have to argue all the time about there being this gender bias.

Oh wow he asked the exact questions people are wondering about, and tells Yoshida about the NA community's current feelings. Thanks Mrhappy! :OApologies if this has been posted, but I think the answers in this interview are quite positive. Transcript is in the description.
In the interview he says that they haven't had much time to read the feedback yet but they might issue a forum statement depending on what people are saying. I look forward to it, if so!

The Mr Happy interview with Yoshida was interesting. Yoshida said that they were uncertain as to how to implement male Viera (what body type, etc). In this thread there have been several different opinions. It would be nice perhaps if the dev team held a vote with concept art if they did decide to add male Viera. Everyone wouldn't be happy, but at least everyone's feedback would definitely be heard.
