I have no problem with Male rabbits, but everyone here hoping for some kind of small rabbits to mirror the aura dimorphism need to realize that it's absurdly unlikely with how they've been described.
If I have to put up with this for 2 years and then the backlash starts AGAIN because everyone is expecting "muh smol fluffy bunnies" I'm going to be very very unhappy.

well, we dont. but we do have several concept drawings that can give us a good approximation of how they would look. no matter what the adult oriented part of the otome community is like, fact is that those kinds of designs are still associated more with gay men than straight women, and sometimes considered gross or weird because gay men find them attractive, not straight women.

Or all the guys who chose to play as girl Miqo'te in Colosseum gear? No, it's not, that's fanservice. And we don't know how they would have ended up looking like. People do, but what I said still stands that not just fetishizing people wanted them. I'm not saying that they don't exist. You can like men without fetishizing gay ppl, btw (which what the original person said was that those who wanted male viera are mainly women who fetishize gay ppl). That's different from regular fanservice.

Genderlocking in this day and age feels less like something normal and more like we just got half a race for no reason. Hopefully the dev team will give serious thought to added male viera and female hrothgar.

Where the "they just didn't want to break lore" argument falls apart for me is that they themselves are the ones making the lore in XIV - they can, and do, make it or change it however they like, even with lore from past games. The only exception would be if higher-ups were forcing them with what to do lorewise but I don't see any proof of that.

Genderlocks are not logical by any stretch of the imagination. Neither lore-wise nor in terms of pleasing your consumer base. More options are always appreciated, even if they may not be ones that I will probably ever consider. (Though my husband would, he was interested in being one) Male Viera would be a huge boon for the FF series as a whole. Seeing them would be exciting, and draw more attention to the game.

Please add them whenever it is possible.

Sidurgu's family was slaughtered on sight in ishgard so i can't imagine how weird it is in lore to have literal beastmen walking around in city states. Even in the lupin are restricted to yanxia from what I know, and the blue kojin are only allowed due to trade correct? for ARR zones like ul'dah it seems sort of weird.

Limsa Lominsa is the only city-state in Eorzea that is open to beastmen.

They made male catpeople, that shows that they aren't uncomfortable with the idea of making male versions of kemomimi characters. Ockham's razor tells me that the weirdness doesn't stem from what people force themselves to assume to try to get leverage from the oppression argument.
