Male Viera as a playable character! show your support

Female Viera were confirmed to leave the forest, but they're not supposed to do that either. Why can't males? Are we really supposed to believe that 100%, no exceptions ever, of male Viera don't leave the forest? It has nothing to do with lore and is just plain illogical and statistics breaking. Some male Viera, sometimes, have to have left the forest. Let one of them be your character.
And while we're on that matter, a single male Viera leaving the forest (because as we both agree, other PCs are being ignored), especially to answer the call of Hydaelyn herself to be her Warrior of Light, will not break the lore.

That's the lore.
They just do not go outside the forest and see it as sacrilege to even be seen, hence why they were never shown in ANY of the Ivalice games. Any mention of them is basically legend or hearsay.
This is much different than "There are very few Male Miqo'te".

Lore reasons aside, again, I don't think the XIV team will lock in a design for a creature that doesn't belong to them.
Female Viera are exactly as they are in Ivalice, it follows that any look the hypotetical males get would be THE Male Viera design.
There might be an exception if Akihiko Yoshida himself decides to work with the XIV team.

Hello everyone on the development team! I understand that adding new races is a very time and cost consuming thing to do, but adding in male Vierra is worth it! Seeing how so many people are very passionate over getting male Vierra is a good thing! It's a race in demand and we want to see them in game. Please add in male Vierra so that the guys can get in on the fun as well! No more genderlocks!

I'd rather have no vieras at all than male vieras. Vieras have been a female only race for 16 years now, if you want to ERP as a male there are plenty of races that allow you to.

Also i have no idea why some people call this choice homophobic, feel free to explain if anyone understands.

Genderlocking races is something we should have left behind a long time ago, it's not acceptable in this day and age. SE should really consider removing the genderlocks for both viera and hrothgar, unless they want to come off as conservative and uneducated.

Here to show support! I was so disappointed when they announced there were no male Vieras. I just don't like the lore argument. They have control over the lore, and they're talented and competent enough to write something that pleases (mostly) everyone. I also think genderlock has no place in this game.

FF12 was my first final fantasy and I always wanted to know more about male viera's, its very unlikely for newer games to show them so ff14 should take that spotlight. If a female viera can wander outside so can males, Fran left the forest even if it was deemed to be just as bad, i'm sure its very possible for a male rebel viera to do the same. When it comes to the lore, ff14 has a lot of things which does not fit into the world like the upcoming raid and lots of collaborations with other ff titles. I'm fine with waiting more but bringing up the lore thing is really poor answer judging by all the contents which does not make sense yet we still have them.

I dont understand why people imply ERP immediatly as a reason for wanting male Viera next to females Viera.. Can you please stop with your exaggeration? Its no better than those people using the "sexism" or "homophobic" argument. Grow up.
