We were talking about starting armor. Wedding dresses are there for people who identify as something else to wear it if they want; not the starting armor.

No medieval men wore heels because they were originally designed for horseback riding.
And also cause it made the calves look stronk.
I doubt SE would care that it hurts your "manly" feelings if Viera males wear high heels like their female counterparts. If they want to theyre gonna do it.
A man can wear a dress and still identify as a man.
Fun fact, heels used to be a male thing after all, renaissance times and such.
It only changed, sterotypes not needed in a fantasy world anyway on top, regardless if people might see it as gay or so, those people need to learn living and accept that peopel can be different in alot of shapes.

What's out of bounds (imho) is making them look like children. Anything else is free real estate. If they want to wear high heels, let them. Not the first time SE has given male characters high heels.
If not a fan of the shoes, just swap to something else. It's head gear that's limited, not shoes :^)
Also the high heels starting gear for Viera have a "rabbits foot" thing going for them. Doesn't exactly look feminine when you really look at them (it's like claws).

I don't get this idea that we need to make the only other demi-mamillian/human race male Miqo'te 2.0 (physically/forget the face).
Also, Viera is an existing race, not a brand new race where they should take liberties to fit a quotas, that's what Au ra and Hrothgar were for. Yoshida explained how Viera was a fanservice race so he added it for the fans; not something brand new.
Want something skinny with boy-band face? You have that choice already
Male Viera are jungle assassins. That official art sketch is the perfect illustration of that. Currently there's no strong tall male who fits that superhero look. The closest is male Au ra but....
Then you realize they're more goofy than superhero.

Gee, it's almost as if standards of masculinity and femininity have changed over the centuries.
Standards, not nature, nature never changes.
When designing a male race they're always designed with the heterosexual nature in mind. Just like when you're born; it's only after that that you can customize things to suit your gender identity.
I don't think you're exactly qualified to determine when something like sexuality or gender identity begins to take shape in a person's psyche.
There is nothing inherently "gay" or "feminine" about heels. That's like saying pink is a girly color or something. Yes, at this point societally we recognize that these gender norms exist but that doesn't mean they're naturally that way. There is nothing inherently less masculine about the color pink compared to the color blue, that's not how those things work.
Also I agree with Nestama, just no kid-looking Viera please. People are creepy, don't help them.
