The Armoury Chest supports up to 32 jobs, though. It always has exactly the right number of slots for all jobs and three crafter souls. They add a slot for each job they implement.

I think it'll need to be a healer and a ranged dps, dunno whether magical or physical.
I think it's likely there will be a change in which gear set s for each class for shadowbringers, but if there isn't then the dps should share loot with dragoon. Honestly we've got so few super iconic jobs left I'd just like them to go wild with their own creation DPS wise, (Or give in to the pipe dream of promoting Blue)
I figure something loosely based on chemist and arithmatician the same way AST is based on time mage and oracle is the likeliest choice for the next healer. That or songstress to directly address the dancer situation.
If we do get a chemist based class Im willing to bet it'll be like red mage. One hand with mixing utensils and one hand with a one handed crossbow or a wand or something (Given we don't use wands anymore). That or it comes with a lunchbox like machinist.
Barbarian, basically a warrior but a DPS job (Titan Might (wielding a 2-hander in each hand) would be cool)
Necromancer or Warlock, DPS mage with death spells and raising undead. Would be nice to spam Chaos Bolt & Incinerate here.
But only after they've fixed/balanced all our current jobs on an acceptable level.
The devs have enough problems on balancing with the amount of jobs we already have, adding more only makes it harder.
Instead of giving us Gunbreaker and Dancer I would have prefered they instead give us 'balancing done right' this time around'.
Such is arbitrary, though. We may as well argue that the Hero Select screen in a MOBA dictates that its game will only ever offer X number of characters, because of the %pixel space each portrait takes up at present.

Personally, I have little interest in new jobs per se until we've fleshed out our current ones -- ideally, through a revised form of the Cross-class system, whereby one gains options but not power (as these options would be mutually exclusive with the additions gained through jobs) from leveling other classes and jobs.
You want a Sky Pirate? Take Gunner, skip most of the Machinist bits (now 100% based on Engineering, with all else remaining in Gunner itself), trait in Wind-sung from Conjurer and whatever other breadth you need while still maximizing depth of synergy, and have at it. Not interested in a full (chess) set of MCH turrets? Swap out Comprehensive Arsenal for Rogue's Plentiful Pockets and Lancer's Vital Momentum for a quick, bursty scavenger build by which to refill consumable resources such as Flametank, Grenades, and your turrets (upon self-destruct) themselves and rush their deployment.
Want a Storm Mage? Dabble in Conjurer and Thaumaturge accordingly, perhaps delving into WHM's Soulfont or BLM's Enochian with what space remains.
Except right now you mean?
Where there are 4 spots open after all the Job Crystals are used. Meaning the 3 crafter souls would still leave 1 open spot.
People are saying they want a new healer the problem I see is it's the same people that play healer. If playing healer was more popular in game I'd not be surprised to get one. Personally make healer more fun to play and ya get what ya want but as it stands new healers aren't really welcomed unless you can do raid lvl healing off the bat. So basically encourage new healers get a new class
I'm not in front of my PC but I'm pretty sure there is no open slot left in the armoury when playing a class (gatherer, crafter without soul, combat class).
I guess we will get 1 new Healer and 1 new Dps.
I would rather have them putting some totally unique jobs into the game, that would give them much more freedom for the design.
The problem is Time Mage is finding an identity for it in FFXIV.
If it starts using spells like Haste and Slow - either all bosses will be immune or a Time Mage becomes mandatory in every composition. Same with Haste on the party - every composition will need a Time Mage.
I suppose one way would be to have the TM only Haste themselves and that becomes a part of the rotation and gimmick but ultimately it renders Time magic just another flavor mechanic with no real benefits.
