    Jobs for Expansion AFTER Shadowbringers

    Considering that it looks like a lot of content for each expansion is decided on during the start of the previous expansion, how about we come together and think up the Jobs we'd like to see in 6.0

    … Because yes, game development does require planning that far ahead. A quote I saw in a recent thread says Viera for Shadowbringers was basically decided back at the start of 4.0; and I do know a lot of people wanted Dancer for a long time (as far back as when they thought Dancer was coming in Stormblood), and we've now got it.

    Right now, all I'm sure people want is a new healer; because they didn't announce one. I've seen "chemist" suggested a few times ages ago, as a healer Job that uses either some kind of dart gun or potion spray gun... Or I guess just straight out shooting healing magic out of it after pumping vials of ether into it, but whatever.

    I haven't heard much on what people would want for the next DPS class (if any), so I'm just going to suggest Gun Mage... Now I'm sure someone is gonna make a joke about how the Aethero-pack of the Machinist already makes them a Gun Mage; but consider that the Machinist's weapons have almost all had physical barrels for shooting the bullet out of... What about Gun Mage's weapons being more like Blasters? As in Ray Guns and other energy weapons? They could even have a floating array of magi-bits.

    Aside from that, there's also the fact that since we don't have hammers, and yet a boss was announced that HAS a Hammer... It would be nice to get a hammer Job that DOES have a hammer in the expansion following... Maybe something inspired by the last Final Fantasy character I saw that had a Hammer (Cid, from... I think it was Final Fantasy IV? The one with Cecil and Kain). That said, given precedent of big weapons, that would probably be a Tank Job.

    On another note: I'd like to see a few more Jobs that use some existing weapons with a different side arm... Sword and Gun is a classic one, and I recall right before Machinist was announced when everyone was wondering what the Gun Job would be and tossing around what it would be called... I recall Spy and Pirate being tossed around, along with Musketeer; and honestly, I am reminded constantly of how Limsa Lominsa has people trained to use guns... In a different style from Machinists. Such as one character in the early Rogue Quests. Otherwise, not sure if this one idea really has anything going for it.

    Anyways, I've rambled enough; anyone have their own ideas on what kind of Jobs they want to see for 7.0?

    It ultimately depends on how Gaia(who I think is an ally during Eden, not a boss), since hammers have been used by every job from warriors to vikings to green mages(a support/healer tied to viera...) to blue mages. We'll have to see.

    Another Physical rDPS


    Making a total of 4 jobs in each role. A total of 20 Job Crystals (Which would fill out our armoury exactly)

    As far as what healer and rDPS?

    Healer:

    Necromancer
    Green Mage
    Flintlock/Salve-Maker


    rDPS:

    Gambler/Corsair
    Sniper
    Gunner/Sky Pirate



    Are my choices

    If Blue Mage hasn't been appropriately considered and adjusted before 6.0, then Blue Mage as a priority.

    Otherwise, Mystic Knight, Green Mage, and Geomancer are some of my other personal favorites, then there's also Chemist, Sage, and maybe even Mediator, if Scholar's ability translations weren't already a nod enough to it.
    If they're stubborn enough to continue this limited job nonsense, then Mime and Onion Knight are the only jobs that make a modicum of sense, as they are the only jobs actually limited by design in the other games, as well.

    I have briefly considered that in terms of ranged DPS, no class or job has done Crossbows yet, so that's... Something... Problem is, I can't think of any jobs associated with it. At least, not in the handful of games I've played in the series.

    They kinda missed the chance to incorporate AutoCrossbow into Machinist's kit and decided Desperado was a good enough reference to it instead. Ashley used a hand crossbow in Vagrant Story, maybe Riskbreaker would make for an interesting combination melee/ranged tank?

    I've always wanted Chemist and Rune Fencer (Mystic Knight? Spellblade?). Though I would want Rune Fencer as a tank, so I wouldn't want that in 6.0. Maybe Chemist and Geomancer as Healer and Caster in 6.0?

    I always liked the idea of a chemist having mixtures done in the style of mudras. Instead of Ninjutsu we could call them Concoctions. Of course this would require the devs to somehow lower input lag and clipping first though.
