Information on why the devs didn't include Viera Male/Hrothgar Female

Maybe it's for the best that they didn't both have two gender options. The Hrothgar females would be female Midlanders with fur, and the male Viera would be male Au Ra/Highlanders/whatever with bunny ears. At least if there's only one for each we don't have to deal with the absurd difference in gender appearances.

But now we have female midlanders with bunny ears and and male Roe's with fur.

I still feel two races was a big mistake on their part. The community would have been fine with one properly done race. We didn't even get any new race for Stormblood and that was fine. They knew genderlock would have caused uproar. What made them decide on this over-ambitious 2-race project when they only had the resources for one race and had to settle for 2 halves?

They've also wasted a concept (Hrothgar) that they could have held in the bag for the expansion after. Now they'll have to think of something entirely new again.

They have repeated many times we are not getting anymore races. We will be extremely lucky if we even see these both completed.
