Don't forget that one of the beast tribes is just a race we already have in different clothes. So that's a limited beast tribe too.

XI did the same thing with WotG expansion except it the exact same zones but in the past, its not uncommon to experience this. The re-imagining of the world we know seems pretty cool.
What if this is the 1.0 world, though? We know hidelyne split everything apart 10,200 years ago. We also know that there are counterparts for every race (and possibly major figure) in each world. we also know that Louisoux died in a flood of light, and that no one can remember the legacy players' names origins.
What if the Crystal Tower itself is the gateway between these worlds and the 1.0 characters are from this other Eorzea? It's possible we all are. They don't have the same problems we do, because their world is flooded with light. That doesn't mean they didn't in the past.

That would almost certainly be awesome if it were true. However it's not as Legacy characters have a few NPCs like Minfilia and Cid remembering you with the veil being finally lifted at the end of Operation Archon with Lahabrea's defeat. After that people do remember who you are. In fact in Part 50 of the Live Letter this was supposedly addressed in a Q&A portion. Legacy players weren't sent forward in time, rather those caught up in the spell were kind of "sealed away" and kept safe for as long as the spell deemed it necessary. Five years just turned out to be the duration chosen by the spell. This is also somewhat confirmed as well in the Binding Coil of Bahamut for Legacy characters as dialogue is slightly altered depending on the player's exploits in 1.0. In there it's mentioned the spell sealed the player outside of time while the world recovered. The fog around their identity and exploits are just an after effect of the spell.
As for the little detail about Louisoix you mentioned, if you haven't done the Binding Coil of Bahamut I'd probably suggest you do so actually.
