So many unnecessary threads...is anyone even playing the actual game anymore? xD

I'm also researching previous iterations of Dancer in FF games...everything I'm seeing says they were 99% DPS/support, with a 1% chance of some skills they use being White Magic...so...not sure if I'm just not finding the information people are pulling from...or people just wanted to throw something into a healing role that hasn't really done tons of healing.
They made DRK a tank. That opened the door for everyone to think any class can do anything.I'm also researching previous iterations of Dancer in FF games...everything I'm seeing says they were 99% DPS/support, with a 1% chance of some skills they use being White Magic...so...not sure if I'm just not finding the information people are pulling from...or people just wanted to throw something into a healing role that hasn't really done tons of healing.
I'm not too familiar on the other Final Fantasy games that had Dancer (DNC), but I do know that DNC was in FFXI, SE older MMO game. They were classified as front line healers that used TP to heal instead of MP. They were also able to do DPS and use debuffs to charge "Flourishes" which they could then either use for other skills, or burn the stacks they would accumulate to gain TP for more healing. They had a few party wide buffs as well.I'm also researching previous iterations of Dancer in FF games...everything I'm seeing says they were 99% DPS/support, with a 1% chance of some skills they use being White Magic...so...not sure if I'm just not finding the information people are pulling from...or people just wanted to throw something into a healing role that hasn't really done tons of healing.
As for the other games, I should leave that to more informed folks to give information on that.

Happy reading!
The biggest problem with this game is that they forced parties into 4 instead of 5. The game would be so much more varied if each party was tank, healer, 2 dps, and a support. FFXI could do stuff like this because the parties were 6 people and there was enough room for support characters.
I understand the Holy Trinity was never a popular thing, however some combat dynamics can still be achieved with only 4 members. Tank, Healers and DPS can all have quite a bit of synergy with each other, and pretty much every role can provide support of some kind, even if one job can trump the other. Also 8 man trials are still a thing, with BRD, MCH (and soon DNC) providing pretty good support, just to name a few.The biggest problem with this game is that they forced parties into 4 instead of 5. FFXI though had such insane imbalance between roles however, which the player base then used to their advantage. Not to mention some jobs never preformed like they should. (Looking at you sidelined Refresh bitch RDMs and Ninja tanks. xD)
However FFXI was a much slower paced game when it came to combat.
