WHM having no identity? More like AST having no identity. What is it? A hybrid? A WHM wannabe? A SCH wannabe? MAKE UP YOUR MIND SQUARE ENIX.Honestly, the only reason we aren't getting a new healer is because of the sloppy balance job they did on healers (ie. WHM having no identity and SCH/AST being meta). Healers were fine around 3.4-3.5ish until Stormblood, and that's when it really hit the fan. However adding in DNC while MCH is in total disarray doesn't help either...
Sadly not just maybe...another Eureka Type content is confirmed and that is one of the reasons why I drop my Sub.
This whole Eureka content is streched to the extreme. Like the Devs took a 0,5l Bottle of Beer, mixed it with 5l of Water to get more "Beer".
They strech their Game more and more for no good reason, besides make it longer.
And this sucks the fun out of the Game for me.
I liked FF14 for being easily managable with just a few hours per day but this Grind is madness coming straight out of the Design Box of some really shallow and bad MMOs from the 2000.
I am not into wasting my whole evening again standing around in Pagos farming 2-3 types of Mobs for 3 Hours, for 1-2 Level Ups.

Op i suggest not making threads like this.It will only feed the salt. Most of the replies in this thread is just going to be from those crying about not getting bunny bois and not getting healer and liking each others posts.
Personally im kind of confused why everyone thought that dancer would be a healer.I mean it wouldnt make any sense as a healer job but i guess reddit rumors and theories made people convince each other it was fact.
No? but they never said anything about males.
And when they never said anything about it, and you are crying about not getting what you hoped for. that entitled.
I play as a kitty and have no plans on changing, new race is so much work for so little pay off. I would be glad to hear no new races ever in this game. I want content.
Um no, they blue balled us from europe until tokyo, I would have preferred a straight up denial of males in paris than what they did in tokyo.
The Problem was showing Concept Art for male Viera.
If you don't want people to expect that something is getting implemented and get hyped, don't show it. It is not Witchcraft to use Photoshop to just put the Picture of the female Viera in the presentation.
This would be like showing Geomancer Concept Art at the Fan Festival and then say "Nah, we did not plan to implement the Class.".
Then why did you show it in the first place?
Youtubers made Videos about the presented Concept Art, Artwork from fans was created...they knew this would happen, when they present male Viera Art and they just went with it to feed the Hype.
Maybe they were hoping for more Preorders. In the end we talk about a AAA Publisher, who is not unguilty of some bad Preorder Tactics.
I remember the whole Deus Ex Mankind Divided Story and how in the end, they back paddled because of that large Shitstorm.
And now combine it with the Point, that they did not wanted to make genderlocked Races in the Game.
This is like asking for a Community Shitstorm.

Concerning any promises or hype:
"In a press conference, Yoshida was asked whether this was going to continue to be the case or whether male Viera would be coming with the 5.0 update to the popular MMO. However, he refused to comment on this matter, teasing that this would be revealed at the Tokyo Fan Fest on March 23rd-24th 2019 (he even did a motion zipping his mouth)." (Link)
I can't find reports, but I have also heard that when asked on another occasion, they were told "we still have another Fan Fest..." as a response. Now, comments like these are not promising Male Vieras, but they are also not denying them either. When you show one race and your game hasn't had genderlocked races since its first failed iteration, that builds up a precedent. People may not be "entitled" to male viera, but you should be able to see where the anger and disappointment come from. While SE didn't definitively say "we're promising male viera," their actions also didn't deny it either and so this had 3+ months to gestate. And, ultimately, they had the power to quell these rumors well before they got out of hand. They decided not to and fed the hype.
Why do you need to know that? They can do what they want. its there game, they own it!The Problem was showing Concept Art for male Viera.

Concept art, is not final art, meaning its only an idea. That you want that idea to be real, is NOT there problem.
The reason why you do as they did, "drag it out" is to keep the hype going. And to keep some mysteriy about the new exp
I have to wonder how many people of the more vocal will exactly play said races if they didn't genderlock the races? Somehow I think they just want it "just because". Even today, I don't see many male elezen or female roes. Perhaps they used the player census the calculate if they wanted to include both sexes or not. I can sort of get the male Viera, but I don't see many male Miqote in my time of play now that I think about it (though I'm not on Balmung/Mateus so it's moot)
If anything you should be concerned that we can't play as Lupins, which were all male during the course of SB (please correct me if I'm wrong) and no one really complained.
