I don't remember the part of the keynote that said they were removing the existing healer jobs. Perhaps you've got a timecode on that?

As much as I wanted to see what I was thinking, the fact they redid a mistake they undid in the past is what bothers me. I love that we got a beastly race and I'm really excited for dancer. I'm also curious to see the new actions and such. I just dislike that they decided to redo something they previously undid: genderlocked races

I agree that's disappointing. I played FFXI for many many years and having literally one male mithra in the entire world was annoying there too. I am not, however, going to burn Yoshi P in effigy as a result of their decisions here regarding Viera and Hrothgar. I've played a bunch of games with gender-locked races. I'll live.

Oh I'll live to. I don't plan on roasting anyone on a fire. It's just disheartening to watch a company take a step back instead of forward.

If given the choice I'd rather update the current races for more variety instead of new races.

I have to wonder how many people of the more vocal will exactly play said races if they didn't genderlock the races? Somehow I think they just want it "just because". Even today, I don't see many male elezen or female roes. Perhaps they used the player census the calculate if they wanted to include both sexes or not. I can sort of get the male Viera, but I don't see many male Miqote in my time of play now that I think about it (though I'm not on Balmung/Mateus so it's moot)

If anything you should be concerned that we can't play as Lupins, which were all male during the course of SB (please correct me if I'm wrong) and no one really complained.
