I'm not whiteknighting. I'm just calling you out on being ridiculous like always. You're literally saying you don't respect matsuno while saying you're unsubbing because you aren't getting a gender of a race he invented. Like do you not see how bad you look? What's silly is the people white knighting for backwards people like him and being complacent with this awful design choices. I will never respect this ridiculous choice they've made. They should have told him to get lost and done what's right and not gender locked Viera and Hrothgar.
But Matsuno already said he wasn't against male Viera![]()

After reading his comments full of hate and resentment, I can't help it but to think he needs to take a break. He's just throwing buzzwords without even knowing the full thing.
And this is a completely legit and valid reason.Another likely cause is that viera were created by Matsuno, used by him for Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, Final Fantasy XII, and the rest of the subsequent Ivalice Alliance games, before he wrote one into his Final Fantasy XIV scenario. Players have been clamoring to play viera and Matsuno allows it under the caveat that they don't use male viera since that's his artistic decision. SE goes ahead and implements them, along with male only beast-race to balance it out since players had also asked for that when we were polled back in the day.

Yes it is really sad to see that someone gets so worked up over a trivial thing like this.
Oh, the irony. What claim do you have to tell someone else what they think is homophobic or sexist, by your own logic?
Or, instead, are you really just saying "this isn't homophobic or sexist because I said so"? Yes, I think that's what's going on here.
Homophobia or sexism isn't about your feeling it is or it isn't.
You could argue Viera being "sexy" and Hrotarg being muscular is a sexist approach of design, we could argue they just respond to business priority based on a pretty sexist but accurate popular demand, being Viera as seen in Ivalices saga and a more beast-alike race. They had to choose and choose to cater to the original lore ofViera and for the sake of equality add a masculine only race to be even (at least its what it seems until proven otherwise).
I won't have a problem with male viera or female Hrotgar, I don't even care. They may not have as much liberty we though they have with Viera and they probably won't admit it for business reason.
You shouldn't make this sort of accusation lightely it serve poorly your argument and real victim of those.

How about you go and look up the definition of homophobic and sexist? After that you can come back and we can talk again. Not implementing something i not sexist or homophobic just because someone feels offended by that.
