Curious as to what their reactions were towards dancer dps and the new races. Could shed some new perspective for me.

Healing DRK is literally... the same since ShB. The reason why people think it's a meme to heal nowadays because DRK receives very little to no buff to their sustainability vs 3 other tanks getting something useful. If you're capable of healing DRK back in ShB (or any tanks), then you'll heal EW DRK just fine.
somewhat the same from what ive seen
most are bit more confused on why they are gender locked pretty much being "i thought we moved passed this"
I thought I heard the audience gasping when Dancer was revealed as DPS.
It's Japan. XD
Most of them, I assume, are upholding "Honne & Tatemae". This means that the majority of them seem okay with the FanFest reveals on the outside, but on the inside they dislike what they're seeing or hearing.
Most of them are too busy actually enjoying the fanfest I would assume.
Honne and Tatemae applies to real-world personal interactions, they can be just as ruthless as "westerners" online or when it comes to a company and not another human being.
It could have just been a case of the audience not having a mic pointed at them, but watching the stream there seemed to be a few moments of absolute silence that came off pretty troubling for a crowd that big. The one I noticed most was after Dancer was announced as a Ranged Physical DPS. I'm not sure what the JP community thinks beyond that.
Well, General Discussion has a thread complaining about how crowded it was and other things like people smoking, etc.
Nothing about complaining about female only Viera or male only Hrothgar. That doesn't surprise me. But I am surprised that they aren't complaining about DNC not being a healer.
The JP crowd is often very reserved and quiet. It comes off settling to me as well; "Come on, you're allowed to have outward excitement people!" Honestly have joked that NA should be held last because no one is as loud as Americans in a large gathering. EU was markedly quieter despite having more numbers. It could have just been a case of the audience not having a mic pointed at them, but watching the stream there seemed to be a few moments of absolute silence that came off pretty troubling for a crowd that big. That's probably why NA won't be last. They'll want NA to be first so the hype can last a long time while any disappointment that comes with more reveals can be soaked in by Japan.
And if the live reactions would be as vocal as how they are in social media, they did good on that choice. I could imagine a repeat of the Diablo fiasco.
