Why are people upset about the gender lock ?

Personally just holding onto a sliver of hope that they'll surprise us with the races not really being gender locked. Or at least some mention of them opening up in like 5.2. Kinda annoying if that's the case but maybe they just need a little more time? Or could be that denial and this is indeed cemented. I'm with everyone else on how this is a one step forward, several steps back kind of deal.

best case scenario they will fill them in at 6.0
personally i wouldnt have mind them going
"ok these guys will be gender locked for now but come 5..6.what ever we will add male/female etc etc"
definitely would have been less of a outrage turning into "well its better than nothing they are at least confirmed"
