They've talked frequently about the failures of 1.0 and all they ostensibly learned from them. If they're going to start gender-locking races again, what other mistakes are they going to make again? What else are they forgetting?

Like even if y'all don't care about the gender locks you should be worried about what this means for other future development. The FFXIV team has started to break their own rules, and they don't care.

Folk really aren't looking at the big picture on this and they probably should. I mean, yeah, it's toxic gender pandering. But there's also a lot more being said here. And it isn't good at all.

Personally I think we should delete Au Ra because their concept art was misleading AF.

I really wish they would have just taken the Au Ra the same route as the Hyur. Rean be the delicate ones, and Xaela the beefy monster waifus.

Related more to the thread: Super disappointed in the gender locking. I already have friends talking about unsubbing because of it (Last straw kind of deal breaker).

Edit: Also, Lupin would have been a cooler option than the Bootleg Ronso we got.

I'm tired of females being pigeon-holed into being small, petite or sexy. The only race that defies this is roe but I want to play something with bestial features and they have none save for their size.

So I'm stuck with being a Victoria's Secret model, a petite kitten or lizard if I want to play as a bestial race as a female. This sucks.

What also sucks is males being pigeon-holed into being super masculine. Give them more options too. Gawd.

Where were these complaints 2 months ago when Viera was revealed?
