Could the 'hammer' emphasis maybe hint at a new WHM weapon?

Having played FFXI, I remember using hammers (club type weapon) and having one be an artifact weapon there for WHM. Could the emphasis on hammers hint that maybe they're going to revamp WHM by giving it a new weapon type/skills? Just a thought as maybe a way to appease healers since DNC was made a dps.

She is called Gaia because the World of FF VII is called Gaia, and it is known that Nomura just loves making nods to his own works.

And that is another possibility. It could simply be a reference. So on the subject at hand it could be something or it could be nothing. I was just speculating.

My logic says its just an NPC we're meeting at some point in the story. My hopes are its a D&D Cleric type healer class.

Gaia will just reuse Nero's hammer animations and fight alongside us in solo instances, like how Nero did in Omega.

I was thinking it might be a hint at another job (a healer job), not necessarily a white mage item. Especially as Gaia gave me no feelings of White Mage while imo Tetsuya Nomura is good at giving you a feeling of their actions/style/theme from visuals alone.

Given the name I'd have to agree with a Geomancer hint. Could be just her weapon and that's it of course.

GEO is a healer, and uses a Hammer. It's the next job they hadn't announced yet.
