It's Blizzcon 2k18 all over again.
It's Blizzcon 2k18 all over again.
Honestly some of the male Viera fanart -pics posted here made me wish for this situation alone* (female only).
Tho, Hrothgar does look like quickly modified Roegadyn, which is shame.
*And no, I haven't reported anybody, btw.
I am posting here as well in the hopes that the feedback is heard, but I do not think the decision to gender-lock each race was wise after ARR famously overturned what they did in 1.0 by making the races available and accessible for all genders. This seems like a giant step backwards in making these equal for all players, and it is tread upon territory to have yet another race where the females are elegant and attractive while the males are large, beastly, and muscular. I really hope they consider our opinions and create extra genders for both races.
Lmao you guys are crazy. They cheered after he was finished talking. The delay was because he was talking... It's called courtesy. Keep in mind it's Japan.
I have never been so disappointed and gutted about what is/isn't going to be included in a game before. Watching that keynote was like a bad case of whiplash, tbqh. Watching the trailer and ingame footage of the new areas was so hype worthy, then finding out Dancer isn't going to be a healer was disappointing, and then the lack of Male Vierra? And the Hrothgar, and lack of female with them? Seriously. I never played 1.0, but i am starting to understand how they felt back then with gender locks. Terrible. I have no motivation to keep playing FFXIV at the moment, and I have loved this game since 2.x days.

That's a great idea, and also... maybe just me, I'll re-watch stuff in a little bit, but... was the lightning a bit.. too harsh and when it wasn't that it was just too "close up" on Hrothgar reveal video? We all know FFXIV could use a texture resolution increase, so when things are so close you can see the pixels, and when farther away it was like the lighting seemed to be a bit too contrasted to me.Yeah, I'm going to reserve my full judgement for when we get to play around with customisation options and see how they look in-game in cutscenes and such. At the end of the day, if I don't like them there are multiple playable races that I do like the look and feel of.
Maybe I need to check it again but I thought to myself "I bet it'll look better on my own PC in a normal distance/ambient setting". Did you feel that?
It's an incredibly bad idea to have a gender-locked race- if that was the case, why were male miqo'te added when lore-wise they're supposed to be born even less than the females? Please consider giving us male Viera and female Hrothgar too- Mithra and Galka had an outcry and this stance hasn't changed. We don't want to be limited in our options. It's also unfair that it goes into gender stereotypes of elegant and sexy women and buff and muscular men- sure, it's a fantasy, but this sort of tone-deaf take on what was an incredibly popular demand for years is really upsetting after the steps FFXIV took to stand out and be inclusive with Eternal Bonds, for one. It's very disappointing and I hope this will be reconsidered.
I want both, its absolutely baffling why Square would take this step back after 1.0 and fixing it in 2.0!
This just makes the original Viera reveal video feel even more voyeuristic and fanservicey! There is not reason for them to not have Male Viera and Female Hrothgar, They write the lore!
Posting here to show my disappointment in the gender locked races. We need male Viera and female Hrothgar.
This needs to be a priority in my opinion and should be released during the 5.x cycle, the earlier the better.
I like helping people with their Job ideas, it's fun to help them visuallize and create the job they'd like to play most. Plus I make my own too, I'll post them eventually.
