    Because it has to share gear with other jobs going forward and be used with all the existing gear. Holsters on the back waist are just going to be a design nightmare without putting it out real far and having a large gap, or clipping through half the armor in a horrendous way, and limiting design of future armor. Its the same reason all 2 handed weapons diagnal over the right shoulder instead of some jobs left and some jobs right. Same reason EVERY 1 handed weapon is on the left hip. Books. Mch Ammo. Swords. Or mirrored dagger/fists. There are only two slots they need to consider when designing gear. Diagnal over the back and left hip. Notice how Mnk and Ninja also share gear and are the only 2 jobs that have mirrored hip placement? Coincidence? New holster positions complicates the rather simple system they have built the game around for 5 years.

    All you have to do is look at half of the bard weapons and realize that holster placement probably isn't a big constraint on armor design.

    Brds placement is the same as every other back holstered item. Its just bigger. Of course SE 'could' do it, but theres some meeting going on at SE HQ and they have decide if its WORTH setting up new holster placements, animations, and armor design considerations. Theres a lot of practical reasons to simply not bother. So I wouldnt get your hopes up SE will make more work for themselves.

    Hey, they're dead set on Limited Jobs. That's a ton of work commitment they've set up for themselves that they didn't have to.

    You know... Except for Red Mage, whom sheathe their Rapier and Focus on their hips and wear completely different gear to Monk and Ninja...

    Also, the fact that Monk and Ninja both wear completely different gear... Monk wears Striking gear (Shared with Samurai) while Ninja wears Scouting gear (Unique to them at the moment)...

    Yeah, other than THAT, yes MNK and NIN are the only 2 jobs that have hip sheathed weapons and share gear

    As far as making a new placement for Gunbreaker to sheathe their sword... So long as they don't put it too low so it clips into tails (I'm still salty about how ever quiver clips into my tail ) they have a lot of freedom for positioning.

    I mean, they have Paladin Shields to account for anyway, especially with Fending gear. Which takes up considerable space on characters backs.

    Then they also have basically the same animation nearly to draw a sword from the hip or from a back holster (Provided they have the handle on the left side so a right hand draw would cross over to the left side to draw it. Rather than whatever magic Fayt uses to get enough arm length to draw his sword >.>)
