You do understand that what you have is an OPINION? What you think is not the truth that has to count for everyone else, but your personal view of it.

Many people like the music of Stormblood. You don't have to. It's your right to dislike something, no matter how many other people like it.
Even if many people also say that the story or the storytelling of Stormblood was weaker than that of Heavensward, most people still like the regions. So if you don't like it, then so be it. But don't say it is bad because that's just your opinion of it and not the universal truth. Same with everything else you say.
Please try to understand that while you can of course have an opinion, the way you always portray it as if it must be the one truth comes off as really unfavorable towards OUR opinions.

I wouldn't at all say it's "trash", but I do dislike Stormblood's town music. Both Rhalgr's Reach and Kugane seem repetitive in a way that I've never felt about the previous hub towns (except maybe daytime Idyllshire), and I generally have to put the music on mute if I'm there for any amount of time, because it quickly starts grating on my nerves.

I'm also not keen on the overly "bouncy" music for Onokoro/Reunion/Dawn Throne. It seemed like a particularly poor choice for the Dawn Throne - storywise we got dragged there against our will, had a rather ominous first meeting with Magnai, and... out of the cutscene, straight into super-cheerful default music. Even without that dissonance, it never seemed to fit the location properly.

Not keen on the battle music either, particularly the intro - I preferred Heavensward.

Dungeon music is generally good though.

SB objectively has the best music of all of FFXIV. Soken has placed himself among icons as a composer and gets better with each new track.

You can't say it's "objectively better" unless there's some kind of universal mathematical way of calculating which is better. Art is subjective. Different people like different things and you can't prove which person's opinion is the "correct" one.

The OST was one of the first things a friend sent me about this game (Shiva's theme to be exact) and it's what caught my immediate interest for how different it was for mmo music. Even boss music in a fantasy title of all things. So this game's music has always been an amazing thing to me.

I don't know what conditions someone has to exist in to get an opinion like OP's, but B O I

Everyone's entitled to their own opinions of course, but personally I feel that Stormblood's OST is overall fantastic. One of my absolute favorite things about this game is the music, and Soken is a magnificent composer. His work only seems to get better and better as time goes on, and based on what little we've sampled from trailers I'm already excited to hear what he's come up with in Shadowbringers' OST.

All in all I think I prefer HW music to SB, but SB had some tracks I like.

I liked Revolutions well enough as a song but as an expansion theme Dragon Song was a lot better, as the story of SB doesn't really hit some of the more interesting ideas that some of Revolution's lyrics hint at. There's no real moral ambiguity etc.

The Rhalgr's Reach/ala mhigan anthem is good.

I like the Bardam's Mettle song I don't mind that some of the dungeons have remixed themes from the zones they were in, it kinda makes sense to me. Dome Castle though the music there...I wouldn't call it bad but ot feels unfitting to me for some reason.

Ghymlyt Dark has a good theme.

For as much as I hate Yotsuyu's story her fight has some great music.

The Worm's Tail is good. I like the final dungoen boss theme. The music in the Lochs and ala mhigo dungeon. I like Beauty's Wicked Wiles.

Personally, I like SB's music. Especially the primal tracks. Main reason I have mount music on is so I can listen to "Sunrise" (Suzaku's theme) and "Wayward Daughter" (Tsukuyomi's Theme). Phase 1 of Castrum Fluminis is also nice ("Nightbloom"); very good, tense music.

"Parting Ways" is a very good "sad theme"; I love it almost as much as HW's "Contention" and "Misconception".

I'm also a little bit obsessed with "Heartless" and "Final Heaven" (o12s themes). I spam o12n sometimes just to listen to "Heartless" (and because I really like M & F).

The main theme of SB is good ("Revelations") - anything Susan Calloway sings is godly, imo - but I personally think it's the weakest of all three themes (the other two, of course, being "Answers" and "Dragonsong"). Nothing beats "Answers" for me, but "Dragonsong" had that intensity to it "Revelations" doesn't for some reason.

I think it's because of Final Steps of Faith. Just watching your character walk slowly towards Nidhogg as it begins to play, and feeling that build up towards the climax of the Dragonsong War is just asdfghjkl feels. I get chills every time.

HW is still my favorite in terms of music, but I don't think SB is anything to scoff at. There are several tracks on it I listen to for "mood setting" when I sit down to write. You're welcome to dislike the music, but you cannot definitively say "this is bad" because that's an opinionated statement. And opinions can't be "right" or "wrong".

Objectively all the things that I enjoy are the best things. Things I enjoy = 1. Things I don't enjoy = 0. Everyone else's things they enjoy or don't enjoy = 0. 1 > 0. Mathematics at its finest.

Personally, I think HW has better music. I mean... 4/4 of my least favorite tracks in the game are all from SB (Yanxia Day Theme/Kugane Day Theme/Generic SB Town Music/Doma Castle), but it doesn't mean that the rest of the SB OST isn't good. Azim Steppe Day Theme, The Burn, Tsukuyomi, Bardam's Mettle, and Shinryu are all fantastic. I even have a soft spot for the theme of Sirensong Sea and it's spooky goodness.

All of the music in the game is objectively well composed I am sure, the rest is just up to the individual players to enjoy.
