Have to speak about SB ost

I would hear some people who are use to be to hear and analyse music.

I dont like SB in many aspect, already said in other topic, maybe the stuff i hate the most in the copy like of Japan corea china and mongolia on 3 map, showing meaningly a real lack of imagination.

Be inspired of stuff of countrie is one thing, but just do copy, it is another thing. anyway

music speaking.

I dont like most of the dungeon of SB, mostly because the music is really trashy.
Only somes got a very unique music (ila de la muerte 61, trial Tsukoyomi and Lakshmi Mittal) last map of ala migho, those are not great, but are "good enough"

dungeon 63 is a poor remix of the map ruby of sea which is already awfull and make me sick to hear, i mean this map just feel so empty and poorly inspired, compared to sea of cloud or dravania land, even coertha!

Kugane music is also very poor and very very cliché, it is like the guy took the most heard kind of asian music heard on youtube and put it in the game.

I dont know for you, even if i dont like Ishgard for many thing, well i like the music, the ambiant is depressing, but the music is good, I know Nobuo were on this, and we feel it.

Yangxia is prolly the worst region i hate to go, music map, ambiant i hate everything, a joke for someone who love china so much. Maybe because i just see a fake china with no soul there. And jesus the music is same so sickness to me.

Dungeon music?
Dumb remix!
Mongolia, i mean Azim plain, i love mongolia, his history and stuff, and i love it is like now in real world, but about they do in the game, just a copy like of Mongolia, i just felt like turist there. And music is same, they could at least do something about diphonic song of mongolia which is really atypique. But no, you have poor vocal song which gather 3 4 word, and the dungeon there?
a stupid dumbing remix of this without any soul. (same for Ralgr dungeon and so on, you know the way now)

I love do dungeon of HW, because they are epic, and because the music is strong (som al, Air, trial of Hraselg.) other are more chill and for resting run, (gubal, anti tower) their music give identity, and make those dungeon unique, and nice to run, also they are well designed in rythm, fight and way.

We can say we all have tast different, however, those music are really really poor.
For exemple when you do the dungeon 51 in HW, the music is yes a remix of the coertha 51 52 map, however, the remix is well managed to bring feel to the player about the place where they are, the hard long past of war, you feel all this, if you are sensitive to this kind of thing.

Even trial of HW were more funny (alexander) and branding.

Ost is 50 % of the identity of game who base itself on journey and adventur, messed up with that, and you messed up half of your game.

So now i reroll a character and do all content, avoiding sb the most possible, and i know when i ll need to go trough there, i ll cut off the music.

So would like to hear you about that. Here is my point, but i ll get upset if i m alone to think there is an issue with the ost.
Of course, this topic are for those who play the game with standard music, and not listenning their own playlist while playing.

That sure is an opinion right there. I disagree though, SB has tons of extremely strong tracks and gorgeous arrangements of the overarching main theme.

well i say often, ppl are free to love trash, and i dont judge, that. you have right to like this, but you have no right to tell me this is good or great, cause it is not true.
For me that not an opinion, i m sur that some music worker on this field will tell you whats wrong with this music

so even if my knowledge is poor, my feel mean something.

Also to argu better i ll need to debuilt each tract part by part and tell you what wrong, but the exercice is hard, harder to translate in english.

I have studied music since childhood and I am a classically trained pianist. I love a great deal of the music from SB. The day music in The Lochs and the night music in The Ruby Sea are some of my favourite tracks in the whole game.

same kind of note every 20 sec, with a little refrain very very annoying to hear. i love asia, but have to say i m not always receptiv to all their music. but i love their music, and i have to say that yangxia has everything to make you sick.
3 poor note, repeated every 40 sec,

and only 2 instrument

ok we can do good music with one instrument, but you repeat the same note each time, you ll bored ppl i m sure as pianist you never do that to entertain your public no?

hear how it start, already we have several instrument playing differently a part, a melting of instrument of several countries around the world,
the start is strong, then go chill and low, to make it resting, befor up again on high tone with some epic feel to give.

The flut give alot spirit of south america, and drum of africa, melting to some asian.

dare to tell me those both track are in the same level of quality and creation.

I dont find all hw music perfect, but i described already what did i find good and very well done compared to sb.

obsviusly HW is more deeper, worked, with a real soul in it, than all sb wont ever had.
We can say sb music are ok, but that all. they are not more than just common music, most of them really cliche.

Also vanu vanu, are iconic tribe, unique, with identity strong,
which sb doesnt have really, we have all asia, japan stuff, ninja turtle. mongolian tribe with horn,

Anyway even you have to admit, to this comparison, vanu track is more valuable than yangxia.

after why ppl like this, i dont really know, but sometime ppl like trash, that all, i wont judge, but still yangxia and other music of sb arent great
of course, do you find good that all dungeon music are just remixed of the map music, which was not the case in hw??

I'm just gonna say you have a poor taste in music, as the Stormblood OST builds upon Sokens previous successes and is one of my favorites.

Also, its called leitmotif. Its used extensively in this game within parts of the same area.

SB objectively has the best music of all of FFXIV. Soken has placed himself among icons as a composer and gets better with each new track.
