You clearly aren't using it correctly then. I did almost all of my BLU stuff in parties of only blue magesA full party of BLU can't even do Brayflox normal let alone two of them. Two BLU can't even go through any of the level 50 instances where a good sized portion of its kit is found without at least one seventy to barrel through mechanics that would he lethal to the BLU or pick them up if those mechanics aren't done or skippable.
The job is beyond broken
if they wanted to make it into a standard job it would need to be nerfed into the ground and have a ton of it's spells pruned
I'm sure you did, solid material basis. But how is the job that's so OP the most efficient way to get most of its abilities requires being carted through content by actual jobs? This beyond broken job should have no problem doing these things on its own. It's almost like it's actually bad and you're wrong.

BLU's DPS tops out at around what BLM was doing at the same ilevel. That's not broken at all and most of BLU's abilities are situational, beyond situational or just bad.
I do too but I doubt they will, better to just move on and look forward to other jobs.

Try going with a level 50 person in 130 gear and see how well they carry a blue mage through content

One can only hope. Sadly, this - like most of SE's 'experiments - will likely end up laying dead on the ground.
"Correctly". I mean no offense, but the job is lauded as a job of creativity and freedom of choice. You shouldn't have to do it "correctly" to have a good time and clear content at a reasonable pace.
Actually what makes BLU overpowered for me is not the dps, but all the crowd control and debuff spells, which would make the dungeons even more a faceroll than they are now. If you time it right you can make mobs totally defenseless during 30 seconds (mostly by frosting them), and if they are not died by then, make them hit like a wet noddle during 15-30 seconds more. How is that not overpowered ?
Of course by saying that i am not talking of bosses who are usually immune to such spells, but do you really want all the trashmob packs becoming a dps feast even more than they are now, with no use for aggro skills, defensive cooldowns and healing spells at all ? I dont play tank or healer, but maybe people doing so would want to keep a bit of what a mmo trinity is.
I hope they go for the best of both worlds approach honestly. For reasons that i do not understand some people enjoy limited BLU and we shouldnt just strip them of that. What they should do instead is add a "duty set" to the BLU spell book, where every skill in it has a 100% learn rate and an associated level, and are the set of "balanced" abilities BLU needs to function in the DF. Hell these skills could even be balanced separate to the limited skills, like the duty set version of peculiar light being say 20% not 30%, ect ect.
Thry should then make BLU open up to level cap and add all the skills that would be in the Duty Set into the game, so that BLU can be used in endgame, then add more limited skills and carnival later
