This isn't Guild Wars 2. Also, the same "type" of people who organize discord? Not THE people who organized it? Surely you get what I'm saying here.

FFXIV, Discord servers, and forums are a mirror of real life; you have people from all walks of life, all kinds - all types - of people. Stereotyping individuals because they are somewhat like those you see in a certain group is just short-sighted.
the point of referencing gw2 is the poster says public content has never worked and players innately cant handle it due to human psychology, and yet it happens just fine in other situations.
i really dont get what you are saying in the second part. Basically there are people who like/willing to organize things and they basically end up doing it regardless of the circumstances.

Yes, it is. But that's how people are. Once bitten twice shy, it happens. I can't fault people for it but I hope they learn to be accepting and move on from that bad experience.
It happens on both sides. People in the discords who think the snipers are jerks, those who are trying to go in solo and are met with hostility think the premades are jerks.
Way to diffuse it isn't to just tell them off but do what I've seen a lot of people do and try to dispell the fear and invite people in. The fact there discord group admins/mods are popping into this thread and being very helpful etc is the way to go and it shows there's plenty in the discord who are more than willing to help and stomp out crappy behaviour from those who are in the discords being jerks. Sadly doesn't always work, you're always going to find a bad egg on each side of the argument who is 'that guy'.
On the other side those who are being overly hostile to ALL discord groups need to stop. Communication/Premades does not equal = elitism.

I don't really know anything about GW2 but I'd have to assume, being a different game, it has a different playerbase with different systems. The devs probably have different ideas on how to execute various thing. That seems to be the magic of coding and game development I am slightly jealous I never got into. For the second part, I mean that just because you see someone you think seems like "they're probably in that discord" doesn't mean they are. I see more people joking around and trolling in shouts over BA than I do anyone else.the point of referencing gw2 is the poster says public content has never worked and players innately cant handle it due to human psychology, and yet it happens just fine in other situations.

You never really know someone till you get to know them, playing MMOs taught me that pretty fast.
the stereotype is based on ingame interactions, and how premades have interacted with public players.
the argument, if only you came in discord, youd see how nice wereally are, ignore all the loudmouths and drama you have seen in game while in hydatos for weeks, probably wont work.
and to be honest discord community as a whole dont really want to change that culture, because disuading people from interacting with the content, and for people to feel randomly entering the content is wrong serves the current community's purpose.
this is why no discordian shouts down, or publicly decries when some one starts intimidating players, or shaming "snipers" when it happens in game. I have seen the drama unfold in chat multiple times, and i have never heard discord publicly censure any body when it does, at best they stay silent, or tell people to say the same thing in a less rude way.
instead of you are worthless dirty sniper, say you would be a bad person if you use our portals, thank you very much.

I am telling you, as a member of a BA discord, I'd honestly rather have you join us, learn with us, and end up riding a swirly ball mount, wearing your Osode, and being followed by a Conditional Virtue than you being left out and unable to get anything. I can only speak on the Primal server but this seems to be part of the fun. When I got my clear, the people who were leading liked seeing the achievement messages pop up. It was like their own achievement.the stereotype is based on ingame interactions, and how premades have interacted with public players.

the game tells you via adventure list who is in the instance. also if the person is harping on someone for not queuing up in discord the proper way, and they are in the instance, its pretty clear. Also no other person chose to tell the map chat this guy is going against the spirit of the people in this BA group, so they basically approve of it.I don't really know anything about GW2 but I'd have to assume, being a different game, it has a different playerbase with different systems. also i am not claiming discord people are evil, itsmostly the same people you have played with in other eureka content. However as a culture, they are currently against rando'sa d not very welcoming in game. that may change as less people do the discord method, or they get more comfortable with the content, but in game, in the instance i have yet to see any premade group seem welcoming, for obvipus reasons.
thats fine, when that becomes the norm in game. Much of the beef will die. right now from what i have seen in public chat multiple times, its generally the opposite of what you saidI am telling you, as a member of a BA discord, I'd honestly rather have you join us, learn with us, and end up riding a swirly ball mount, wearing your Osode, and being followed by a Conditional Virtue than you being left out and unable to get anything.
