I do like the look of it very nicely done

But this is the issue with getting an official launcher update, any launcher update would have to be compatible with both PC and PS4 SE are very prone to not updating ffxiv to benefit one game client over another outside of QoL changes and this is probably the reason why it hasn't received an update after all these years its sucky but i rather they keep it that way so that SE keeps things as fair as possible among their playerbase

Yeah, I was hoping for an update to the launcher once PS3 support stopped

PS4 doesn't log in through the web browser. It launches as its own program, and only opens the PS4 web browser if you try to follow any of the news links instead of logging in.

It still requires the internet browser to connect and if PS network is down you have no chance of getting in at all. The login page is based on the browser and the settings effect whether it works or not, it isn't a completely independent launcher.

Not only that, why would I want to access all these things out of the game right when I'm about to log in to the game?

Granted the GUI looks fantastic. I wish we had all those features on the worthless companion app.
