Don't think this has anything to do with SJWs. The Final Fantasy series has already shown sexless races. That's how the Galka functioned in FF11 and there wasn't any outcry about it. You 2 are the only ones trying to push anything that I see. :v
How do you suppose they introduce a genderless race without telling us that they are asexual? There would have to be an entire storyline or it would just be another gendered race. And the only reason people are asking for this is because of the recent movement of people trying to shed gender identity. That whole thing isn't needed in a video game.
Lol over 200 games have a genderless race/species without ever mention anything sexual. How do you suppose they introduce a genderless race without telling us that they are asexual? Sounds like your just some 12 year old boy trying 2 sexualiz a game
They just explained it in the instruction manual...How do you suppose they introduce a genderless race without telling us that they are asexual? I take it you haven't interacted with the ananta at all then? It's clear they're all the same gender and they refer to one another by only "she". Which I mentioned already is essentially the same as being genderless in their case because they can reproduce despite all being the same gender. Do you see any outrage about them? No. Maybe because it's not as big a deal as you think it is :PHow do you suppose they introduce a genderless race without telling us that they are asexual? SE actually have a long history of having genderless races in their games, more than a decade before the movement of gender identity got a strong foothold. And the franchise didn't suffer from it.
You seem to be confusing male/female and masculine/feminine - or possibly "modern Western" masculinity for the only possible variety.
All the player races (except possibly Lalafell) have clearly male characters that can be customised towards a masculine or feminine style, depending on your taste. There's more than one type of masculine appearance - it's not just the bulky muscular types that have a "male aesthetic" - there can be slender elegant males or small wiry males (cat ears optional) or anything inbetween.
I have a male Elezen alt, and he doesn't look female to me at all. Somewhat feminine, on a sliding scale of gender, but still with a "maleness" to it for lack of a beter word.
We absolutely have a better genderless pronoun than "it" or the terribly awkard "s/he": singular "they". It's not new and it's probably not as strange as it sounds - I certainly use it all the time in Internet discussions, if I'm referring to another poster, instead of using he/she if I don't know which is correct.Plus, it would be annoying if all references to the race have to be ambiguous. The only third person singular pronoun that is genderless in English is "it" and that term is considered impolite to use when referencing a person, as far as I know, while "s/he" is just awkward to use on a regular basis, especially with the possibility of voiced/spoken references.
I've used both that and the "generic he" mentioned in that article sometimes, but both usage can get confusing. At other times, I don't mind spelling out "he or she" and "him or herself" sometimes, though still awkward. Any of those options I think is better than "s/he" unless in the context of just an informal short hand notation. We absolutely have a better genderless pronoun than "it" or the terribly awkard "s/he": singular "they". ok quina is an it.But Quina can also equip several female only add-ons, so it seems the game treats Quina as both rather than one or the other. Also the headpiece Lamia's Tiara is female only but Quina can equip it, so the Entice ability kinda contradicts it. Also some localisations/languages also struggle to define male or female in wording so it's not always obvious.
