I highly suspect they decided it "wasn't their call" with regards to male Viera and decided to stay true to their original incarnations elsewhere in the series, player demand be damned. But part of me also thinks that they may do male Viera and female [REDACTED] for the next expansion after the inevitable backlash.


Or, possibly, they were working on another male/female race and got a head start on female Viera thanks to Fran's inclusion in RTI, and decided to stagger the releases as a compromise. But that's just me guessing based on my limited experience in software development. I could be way off there.
