It was a nice sweet story i'd liked it not much going on for our pcs to do unfortunately but i did like all the different cutscenes in the repeatable quest

as far as i saw you get

1. Nanamo and papashan
2. Yellow moon + Miner and gld guildleader
3. Alc + Wvr + thm guildleaders
4. The songbirds
5. The twin miner brothers + gld roe
6. Gsm + pug guildleaders
7. Biggs + wedge + alpha + omega (Might need to complete Alphascape story for it)

is it just me or does all of the special events as of late seem trimmed down in length and rewards. i felt that way with the Christmas and Halloween events this year.

I loved the one with Yellow Moon. All three ladies aren't thought of as softies.

Completely disagree, the length of the quest was absolutely in line with all previous events (and little ladies day 3 years ago). Same as the reward, they just can't give us a mount, a minion, a full set of glamour and 3 emotes with each and every event, which some people seem to expect. The flower crown looks nice and I've already seen tons of people running around with it. Some events will always be a bit more special with mini-games or an exciting reward. But they can't do that for every event. With the easter event we're gonna get our glamour set and I'm sure they're gonna do something exciting for the summer event again. The christmas event was very well done as well. Sure not everyone might enjoy it (I didn't), but to put a rhytm game in FFXIV was a nice idea and took quite some effort! The glamour outfit is nice too!

What events consider people to be good when they think the last few were bad? I'm genuinely curious!

Most of the 2017 ones?

Valentione's had a new emote and minion.
Little Ladies had a completely new emote and full glamour set
Hatching-tide had a completely original mount that even came with its own unique action
Make It Rain had a new hairstyle
All Saints Wake had a whole new glamour set
Starlight had a mount

Not to mention we also had the return of most of the old crossover events this year for people who missed them.

The only other ones I've excluded were Heavensturn and the Rising, which always give out the same kind of reward every year, and the Moonfire Faire which was the only event that truly wasn't that remarkable that year.

I have't done LLD this time yet but the seasonal events are pretty week.

The best thing about the FF14 events is there is a unique story each time.

But that's it: Begin the story, a repeatable activity, then end the story. Some have an additional repeatable activity.

Also, even though there is a section for it, none of the cutscenes are saved to the Journal.

The first year or two the Rising gave out yukatas and /bombdance.

I mean, we got glams for starlight, minions from all saints, glams from moonfire, super controversial earrings + minion + orchestrion roll for rising. I mean compared to some other ones we are getting less for the last 2 events, but I don't see a pattern of giving less overall, especially not with the tinfoil hat theory of trying to sell fat cat mounts, lol.

Sorry but I just don't see it.
All Saints Wake giving two minions almost indistinguishable from each other? Especially when 2016's All Saints Wake had a minion AND a glamour piece? And that's not even going into Hatching-Tide which was just lol-worthy. Flying chairs from Valentione are probably the worst mounts in the game and I'd argue the laziest considering it's literally just the furniture item with no extra animations.
Moonfire Faire was probably the best one in terms of rewards but that's only one event out of all the mediocre ones from that year and it seems like 2019 is ready to follow suit.
