and Lyse, i m not really agree with her design, Mighois sounds more close to arabic and african kind, than sweden blond girl, but doesnt matter. Her cloth can be logical, but still i dont find them serious, and her pant armor is not the best thing to wear as shaolin monk.

and on Her role, she is just a dumb american blond turist, not very insight, and not at all educated for leading war, she has poor intervention, she speaking too much, and like minfilia she doesnt have any major role, she just stand on our side, and watch us do the job. I mean, Yugiri is more legitim to lead a rebellion than Lyse.

No worries, I know Lyse is controversial. I do really like her and think she does bring worthwhile things to the table (I can link examples if you want), but you don't have to agree with me on that front. I have some issues with Yugiri because I don't feel like we get enough tangible, personal details about her. Her background from Sui-No-Sato felt tacked on to me, and I'd have liked more of that to be present in her behavior and how she reacted to different things. If you noticed moments I missed though feel free to let me know!

One thing though, if it helps! I actually interpreted Lyse as Amazigh (more commonly called "Berber" but idk if that's considered an appropriate term or not), which is a North African ethnic group where fairer hair, skin, and eye colors can happen.







There's variation and all, some Amazigh people have significantly darker skin, hair, and eyes. But that was my take.

Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if a major reason Minfilia got sent out was because she was absolutely boring to write. I don't think she has to be, and tbh if she gets brought back with more depth and room to change for better or worse I'd be fine with that. She desperately needs complexity imo.
