I just got out of Dzmael Darkhold. Had an Ast that would not put on a stance. Kept spamming aspected benefict on me. I told them that it doesn't do anything (other than a weak costly cure) without a stance. I am told, "I'm fine, just tank =)".
This is gonna be a looooong road to 70 I can feel it.
For some reason this reminds me of a tank a FC member of mine got once, except less polite. Where the tank wouldn't put on an oath, and when asked about it, told my FC mate that 'shield oath is passive.'
Hopped into a run of HoH a while back for some levels and loot. Got paired with a healer and tank that were pretty solid, but the one outlier was the SMN--all they did was throw out their Titan-Egi. That's it. No other spells. They just followed around the rest of the group and sicced it on whatever enemy was there, even if the rest of the group was running over to the next set of floors.
"You sure? I was also in a run that sounds just like that but wasn't that and a player who was most definitely not you was doing this and that"
Do you not see how posts like that could be problematic?
Edit: To clarify, feel free to post whatever as long as you aren't alluding to other players, because that just starts "he said, she said"

Dzemel Darkhold on my Scholar Alt (I needed those Malestrom Tickets) Anyway Sprout tank I could tell they were excited because of the way they were running ahead anyways aggro issues which is fine because this tank is really trying anyways I notice that theres a few things that could use some adjustment to make thier tanking life and future healing lives easier so I ask them to stick around after the dungeoun for a minute I remind them about shield Oath and only stance dancing when aggros established its easier later on but thats by the by. tell them about shield toss (lob whatever) and tell them flash only works when the mobs close in and to use it twice to keep aggro from healers I'm totally polite about it cause I can tell they're just excited and happy tanking.(More power to them I like tanking occassionally but love healing) Anyways it all went pretty well but they left before I could comm them. Now I feel bad.
In addition to being 130 potency per mob, Overpower is the only spammable AoE warriors have. Yes, SS and Demolish exist, but they're not spammable, and asking a WAR not to spam it on big grpups is like asking a PLD to not spam TE/flash or a DRK to not spam AD in the same situation.
As for a war not keeping aggro while doing that....check his gear next time.

Not sure if this counts as a story but I'd love to recount my experience with the Summoner Job for a bit so bear with this lalafell for a minute please xD
Ok maybe I initially thought this cuz I listened to the wrong sources but for some reason some ff14 players on youtube bash summoner as this "convoluted job" and how its scary and how its "one of the worst jobs to play and it clutters your hotbar something fierce"
This initially scared me from trying the job for a long time but in the past weeks I decided to give it a whirl and level it up to 70 and let me tell you....I'm absolutely glad I did
Summoner is legit some of the most fun I had with any job in the game so far.It feels like a caster version of bard(if that makes sense) and I loved every bit of it
The only huge downside to it is that it has one of the worst recoveries from death out of any job but that could be mitigated if u play well and it isn't too damning if u manage ur Aetherflow and Tri-disaster CDs well
At first I wasn't sure if I'd continue playing summoner in raids once I got it to 70
And then I summoned bahamut for the first time on orbonne.......then I did a 45k Akh Morn on mustadio....and then glammed my Lalafell with Dreadwyrm glam as a sign of loyalty to our lord and savior Bahamut xD...and then my lala started hearing Answers in his sleep every night ever since xD
Needless to say....I.FREAKIN.LOVE.SUMMONER
Yeah, summoner's a real fun job. What people were alluding to with the complexity comments was probably it having the most complex optimal opener with the highest "buttons per GCD" count out of everything.
And yeah, Summoners get heavily punished by dying. During yesterday's Omega kill, my group's summoner died right before summoning Bahamut. You could hear him dying inside a little.

Ow thanks for the mild aneurysm. >_<
Yyeah it does sting, that actually happened to me on my o10s page run yesterday where I died right before I pressed "summon bahamut".....my heart broke a little last night xDYeah, summoner's a real fun job. I've been playing this game on and off since 2.0 ARR early access.
There are still people at max level that single target whenever a tank decides to do massive pulls.
Let them eat the mob they pull, maybe they learn one day to switch their single target when it goes orange. You know, give it some million years and everything can happen!
