    Um... no. No, thank you.

    I like my crafting reliable. There's enough RNG everywhere else in the game as is. Crafting is the one area where I feel more-or-less in control of the outcome.

    Oh sure, making it more frustrating would drive up the demand for crafters... because people would end up abandoning crafting in droves. How fun.

    No, no, no. If anything, I hope the new crafting skills for 71-80 provide more tools to mitigate RNG, not devolve it further into gambling with millions worth of mats. To a real artisan, a tool that is unreliable has very little worth. I've never heard of one who created anything of value by throwing darts at it while blindfolded.

    You could basically put a carrot on a rabbit instead of a bush.
    I don't know how a rabbit carrying carrots would make more sense haha.

    I'm much comfortable cooking something with a carrot I found in a bush than one I found in a rabbit.

    If they want to keep a steady demand for crafters, they should make omnicrafting much more difficult, if not impossible.

    Y: I usually compare FFXIV with a theme park, but the Forbidden Land of Eureka won’t be a place where everyone would want to go. For example, there are people who don’t want to go to horror houses because they don’t see the point in getting scared on purpose. For example, on a date, the boyfriend might want to invite the girlfriend to go the horror house, but the girlfriend just doesn’t seem to find it fun. In other words, it’s not like everyone wants to go to the horror house, but there are people who just love the adrenalin rush they get from it. Think of Eureka as something like that.

    What kind of mob would carry carrots around with them...?

    The combination you claim there isnt one I'm familiar with (specially because I didnt knew we had pears in the game) and while I get that this might be more of a hypthetical, I dare you to look at it this way: When you gather at a bush (not a tree!) you dont actually gather at that one bush, but at the whole vegetation you see infront of you.
    So, lets say its a berry bush - you grab berries from the bush. And then you notice that there is a carrot growing underneath the bush! Horray! Carrot! And when you pull out the carrot, you notice this plant next to it... could it be...? Mint? Yep, thats mint! Let me write that down so I'll find it again... There is also a feather stuck in the bush - eh, might aswell take it and put it on your hat, right?

    To me thats a lot more believable than it would be to get a carrot from a mob, wondering "...where did that animal carry this carrot? Do I really want to eat it now...?"

    farming needs to be more than just bushes and rocks, yes you can get some materials from monsters but it aint very much.
    This thread was originally about crafting (not even gathering) and not how your cousin wants certain unrelated combat classes to work (or would we remove botanist from the game and replace it with DRK if that class gets a scythe?).

    Adding more RNG to crafting by making it more RNG-based if you get your mats isnt the right way to go. Demand wouldnt increase, suplly would only decrease because crafting/gathering would get to annoying and take to long for to little gain.
    If suddenly the amount of work or gil spend on getting basemats would jump up and I'd try to reflect that in my pricing of the final product, people would turn away. Why spend an aweful lot of money on ilvl380 gear when the current dungeon drops 375?

    Farming needs to be reliable and non competitve in the general farming process (currently when I want something from a mob, I kill that mob and then no one else can kill it for a while - rocks and bushes only appear for me, while you have your own. Me grabbing something from a tree doesnt prevent you from doing the same at the excat same time)

    New crafter: Artist. The artistry lies in convincing your client the "art" you produce is worth anything.
    I mean, if a block of butter in a corner is considered art what isn't...

    Untitled by Cy Twombly.

    Sold for $69.9 million at auction.

    Yes, it literally is crayon scribbled on a blackboard.

    Artists are weird...

    I wouldn't say they hurl weird it's more of just look at some someone or anyone can see in artistic aspect and something thus it's considered art be that as you said crayon scribble on a blackboard or anything else.

    That would be nice to unlock ninja from thief rogue, have rogue is the base class a d ket it unlock a thief job crystal while ninjas just a job on its own like samurai machinist etc. I don't think it would be too difficult to add a DPS role in addition to Tank role to Dark Knight.

    Cool. I'll trade you "Savage content so easy that even someone who bought the game yesterday could do it" for "no more omnicrafting."

    I agree with you 100%. I just feel as if crafters aren’t very appreciated for their time just like how skilled raiders are appreciated for their time learning boss mechanics and having good clear track records. Honestly, all it’ll take is for Shadowbringers to include a Hasty Touch III. “40%, but 150% quality per Touch.” And completely nerfing Prudent Touch to be almost useless in Lvl80 crafts.

    I just find it strange that everything up until 4.0 has made crafting difficult. I feel as if 4.0 was catering to people complaining about how inconvenient crafting is. And maybe 5.0 will return crafting to its roots. I understand I’m in the small minority when it comes to hardcore crafting, so Square Enix won’t pay my opinion any kind, but you must admit it doesn’t add up. It’s an opinion of mine, so I will not be responding to negatively inviting posts.

    1.0 = Hard
    2.0 = Hard
    3.0 = Hard
    4.0 = Easy?

    Things just don’t add up. At least reward players somehow that actually enjoy hardcore crafting, and give the necessary rewards to those that don’t.
