    I really want to get the gathering achievements, as I consider myself a career gatherer. But I'm afraid that after I finally scrape my way to the gold tools, I'll be so sick of gathering I'll never want to do it again.

    you should have so many materials by then youll have to figure out how to get rid of them all though so problem solved?

    I can live with reduced xp when I'm getting ~300 xp for obsidian arrowheads, especially when my success rate with hasty hand has been fairly high. Sometimes optimal xp for fast grinding isn't max xp.
